The Eureka College Republicans launched their web page in early 1999. From the time that it was designed and the first files uploaded, it has been my vision that the site do more than give lip service to our special connection to Ronald Reagan. The connection that Reagan has been able to maintain with his alma mater over the years is remarkable, and as the official student Republican organization at Eureka College, it seemed only logical that we should celebrate the times that Ronald Reagan walked 'neath the elms.
When I took over the position of chairman of the College Republicans in May of 1999, I knew from the start that one of my priorities would be to design this photo essay. Obviously this presentation does not happen without the photos provided by the Eureka College Archives. I am very much indebted to them for allowing me to comb through the literally hundreds of photos they have stored away so I could find images capturing the essence of Reagan's campus visits. In particular, special thanks goes to Mr. Anthony Glass, College Archivist, and Brian Ingrassia, student archival assistant, for all of his background knowledge, technical support in scanning the photos, and friendly advice.
All of that being said, I hope you enjoy looking through this collection of photos as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Direct suggestions or comments by email and sign the guestbook, accessible through the Eureka College Republicans Home Page.
Thanks for stopping by,
