Work Experience:
Excel Temporary Services, Reston, Virginia: Started doing temp work for various companies in the Herndon/Reston area in July of 1999. Vastly expanded my knowledge of how businesses and offices operate, and established valuable contacts that will be helpful in the future. I will continue working for Excel next summer, unless I get a better offer for steady position throughout the entire summer (preferably 40 hrs/wk).

Target Store 1088, Reston, Virginia: Worked summers and weekends at the Customer Service desk and as a cashier from June 1997 to July 1999. Regularly interacted with customers at the service desk regarding returns, credit card applications and general customer satisfaction. Learned much about the retail and marketing aspects of business.

Amphora’s Diner Deluxe, Herndon, Virginia: Worked as a cashier from May to June 1997. Handled customer complaints and compliments, and learned how the restaurant business operates.

Notable Skills:
All the companies I have worked for thus far have called me a very quick learner. I have outstanding writing skills (spelling, vocabulary, grammar, punctuation) that exceed those of most of my peers. Employers say I am a pleasure to work with, and I pride myself on both my personal and professional abilities. I have learned a great deal about computer hardware and software since I started at Virginia Tech, and computers have become one of my primary hobbies. And for what it's worth, I can type at about 80 wpm.

Other Interests:
Computers, computer graphics, Internet, music, guitar, travel, outdoor recreation.
