I don't really know where to begin... There's a lot of stuff to say...
Well, I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in May 2002. I recently moved up to Boston and got a job downtown. Not bad, pretty much a good start and i'll just work my way up. I have a B.S. in International Business, a B.A. in German, and a minor in Spanish. I lived in Germany from September 2000-August 2001 as an exchange student. I was in Braunschweig in the north from Sept.-Feb., then i moved down to Munich to work for Siemens in the business department. i was there until August when i came back to Rhode Island to finish my degrees.
In 1999 i lived in Sevilla, Spain for four months as an exchange student as well. . It was great! i can speak german and spanish alot better and I got to travel all over the place! When i lived in Spain i travelled all over Spain, and i've visited the Algrave in Portugal, Gibraltar, Rome, Florence, Pisa, and Morocco, Africa.. When i was in Germany, i went around even more, all over Germany, Amsterdam, Prague, Paris, Rome (again!), Naples, Pompeii, Vienna and outside of Innsbruck in Austria (skiing)... it was awesome! I also went to the UK and Ireland in the beginning of August before i flew home. Check out all the pictures here.
As you can probably tell from my pictures, I'm tall. Really tall, 6 ft. I have orangish-brown hair(leftover from being a redhead once upon a time). It was shorter, i'm growing it out now... Also i have a belly button ring and an eyebrow ring, although i don't know if you can see it in my pictures.
I listen to mostly classic rock and alternative music. My absolute favorites are Sarah McLachlin and Nine Inch Nails. But i like girly music, and well as other stuff like Tool, Incubus, Our Lady Peace. I don't listen at all to country, although my sister Emilie is a budding country singer in Nashville, Tennesee. I don't really like rap either, but I listen occasionally to a couple artists. I like Jimmy Buffet (i don't consider him country), and I love Tom Petty.
I'm originally from Burkittsville, Maryland (yes the Blair Witch town, and no it's not a legend), where I lived with my mom, and I moved up to Rhode Island when I was 13 to live with my dad. Even though I'm originally from Maryland, I consider myself a true Rhody, but now I'm in Boston it's pawk the cah.. hell i say "wicked". but it's called a water fountain, not a bubbler.
My dad died on February 22nd 2005. He had been in Egypt working on a project for the Egyptian government. He had a heart attack on his way back to the hotel to pick my step-mom up for lunch. His driver said they had been talking about their children, when dad looked out the window and then his head just fell back on the seat. It was a massive corinary. I love my dad so much, and I don't know what I'm going to do. I can't believe he's really gone, it's been only a few weeks now, and it still feels like I could call him up and say hi dad. what I do know is that I love him so much and I'm not yet ready to let go. dad's obituary
my oldest and dearest friend is Alicia Mendez. I've known her since she was 7 and since I was 10. even though we lived hundreds of miles apart, I could always count on her to be there for me. She moved to West Virgina in 2002, but we grew up together in Burkittsville. She was shot in November 2003 and killed in her home in West Virginia by her brother. He hadn't been taking his medication for his schizophrenia. After he shot her, he went outside and shot himself. Alicia will always be remembered. she was my best and dearest friend. she was a my sister. I will never forget her as long as I live. I hope she is in a better place. I love you Alicia!.
I like to act and sing alot. I was in a bunch of plays when i was younger in Middle school and back in highschool during my last two years too. I actually stared as Helena in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Acting has always been my true dream, and i hope that I can start auditioning or something here now I'm in Boston. We shall see........
