I finally went to Borders to redeem my gift certificate. I used it to buy "Amazing Faith", the biography of Bill Bright. I started reading it around 1:15 am and had to stay up all night to finish it. I've really wanted to read the book for awhile, but i couldn't find it any of the libraries where i looked for it, so this was the second best alternative.

I loved the story so much. It's not the best written book, but it's awesome to watch how God's vision was lived out in one man's life. Bill Bright is just really committed to sharing good news at every chance. He has been given platforms to speak all over the world and his message remains virtually the same. He always tells people about Jesus, what it means to follow him, and asks if they're ready to make that committment. I guess what excited me so much about it, was that he has been untiringly preaching that message for over 50 years, and so many peoples lives have been changed. And so many of those people have gone on to tell others the good news.

Tonight three of us watched Keeping the Faith. It was extremely disturbing to see the way faith wasn't at all taking seriously. It's about how a rabbi and a priest fall in love with a woman and how it affects all three of them. It bothered me that some blatant sins in the movie were not treated or viewed as such by any of the characters. It always bothers me to see certain things taking place in relationships in movies, and i guess i kinda have to live with unless i want to start producing movies. but at least remove all religious figures from the line of dirty action. Not because they are too good for it, but because it should cause a crisis of conscience, and if not that at least a twinge of remorse. to make things worse while i've been staying at my brother's apartment, where the tv is on all the time, keeping the faith has been shown twice. I just had to relive my anger anew.

i've been staying at my bro's apartment, waiting for him to finish with finals. thing is, he studies at the library and his apartment mates study in the apartment. so it's just me and these two guys. it's kinda strange cuz i've never spent so much time with only guys, and it's a strange world. I laughed when i walked into the bathroom because there are about 7 gigantic bottles of lotion, but only 3 people live there. I don't know it seemed strange to me. when one of my best friends visited her brother at berkeley for a week, i was so impressed. Her brother is a football player, and apparantly his room was the hangout place for a good portion of the team. so it was pretty rowdy, loud (the tv, stereo and some video game) were always all on simultaneously. but it scared me a little to think about being surrounded by that amount of fellas, for a long time, with no females arround. anyhow, here i am(with no girls to back me up), and it's not as bad as i envisioned. it's actually kinda "fun" in the loose sense of the word.
