The Premedical Student Guide

My name is Tricia and this is a personal guide to your road to success. By accessing this page you have already shown that you WANT, no NEED to be a doctor. So many things to so. Not as much time as you may think. What should you do? This is the page for you.

There are many things which go into the premedical years, and application for medical school. I did not realize just what I was getting my feet into until I attend the Medical Academical Advancement (MAAP) program at the University of Virginia. I learned so many things there that I decided to put it all on a web page. I finished the program on July 24, 1998 but I still want to help you!

So here we both are on our journey to "the promised land" (aka Medical School). At times it has seemed that I may never make it. I am sure that others have felt as I have. You will have the benefit of my knowledge and everything that I did not know when I started my journey three years ago. The following pages are designed to guide you in the major aspects of the application process. This site covers everything from why you should be a premedical student to how to reduce your debt in undergraduate and medical school. So while you start on your journey let me know how everything goes. I would love to hear from you.

This is May and I just thought that I should let you guys know that you should not be slacking off just because summer is coming. Good luck to those of you putting in many hours for your studying. Concentrate on specific things that you may not understand. I advise you to get a study guide. You can check my publications section for a good (I didn't say cheap) one. Now is also a good time to be doing summer research. You should be in a summer research program getting experience to make you look better to the medical schools. I have put up a new FAQ page. I realize that many of you who write me want to know my whole biography so I will put one up in the near future. If you want to email me, you can do so. Until then, enjoy May!

Please feel free to sign my guestbook and please recommend my page to your friends. Good luck.

Please come back to visit since I try to update often.
