Last summer, a couple of my friends from back in high school and I were able to get together. Seeing them and hanging out with them brought back a lot of fond memories... and quite a number of painful ones. We all had so much fun reminiscing and honestly I would not trade those days for anything in the world- even if I could. I cherish my days as a 'Feddy babe.'

I entered high school a flat-chested, rude, spoilt, innocent kid but I came out a hardened criminal... No, no, no- just joking, only joking... I came out a well groomed, hardworking, determined, bright young lady. I'd been through it all. I'd evolved. No doubt, that place was where I shed my most bitter tears yet. I learnt lots of unforgettable lessons there- And had lots of great times, too. All the horror stories about Madam Koi koi, bush babies and their crew, and the horrible food, and those weekly inspections... and the seniors- the wicked seniors... I still have some issues... But it’s all good though.

As a result of sheer boredom, coupled with the fact that my friends made me recollect most of the almost forgotten incidents, I wrote a few articles about my high school days. Most of these stories are true- Well at least they are my version of the truth (which may not necessarily be gospel...) So I should probably just say that they are all based on circumstances I have actually found myself in at some point. All the names are fictional. I tried to avoid making reference to anybody negatively and even otherwise. The stories may not be hilarious to everyone but they are stories that all Naija sisters who boarded in any all girls’ federal school in Naija can relate to. Yep, this page is strictly for the ladies... Oh, whatever! I’m kidding. Guys can check it out too. How can I stop you anyway?

So...

Before I created this site, I stopped to ask myself- ‘Hmm Chikito... Do you think anyone would be interested in reading about high school experiences in Naija?’ Maybe. And maybe not. I do know one thing though- that those of us who schooled in Nigerian high schools were educated in a system that is very unique to other parts of the world. And most of us appreciate this. In fact, most of you treasure your high school experiences almost as much as I do so I figured “Hey, why not share?” ...Plus, I’d already written this stuff so I thought I’d just put them here anyway...

Oh and you know you need to hear The Word... According to Chidi!

Later...
