My Favourite Webcams

I'm not going to just list every webcam site I've been to for a very good reason - not all of them are very good.

What makes a good webcam? Well, I believe there are two things :-

1. Its got to be pretty to look at or exciting. That may be a countryside view or a busy street.
2. Its got to be as LIVE as possible. So, any that don't do LIVE Video are off my list right away.

(NOTE : To get the best effect out of these sites you need a fast connection ot the Net. If you don't, trust me when I see these webcams are very LIVE)

BEST WEBCAMS

UK - Top website for getting a view of some of the main attractions in our Capital London, UK. Take a LIVE look at people  walking around in London and see such attractions as London bridge.

Sydney Australia LIVE Cam

AUSTRALIA - On the other side of the world there's Sydney harbour Australia and this site shows you LIVE video of the main attractions here. Like for instance the Sydney Opera House.

USA - Travelling across the ocean now to our friends in the USA. This LIVE cam is on the corner of Main Street & Sunset in Westhampton Beach, and on Main Street & Wall in Southampton. For us UK folk, its on the East Coast near New York.If you want to get a  feel for life in America I myself feel this one does the job. You feel like you are there in a house looking out of the window. Great stuff.

USA - This next one in right in New York! When the weathers good you can see The Statue of liberty. This site is really cool to watch especially when its night-time for them.

GREECE - From one extreme to the other, that's the way it goes with these webcams. Check out life in Greece. Its always sunny over there or so its seems.

USA - San Francisco. This is a good site. Its off a busy junction. Loads of cars, plenty of traffic lights. Good to watch.

BEST OF THE REST WEBCAMS

USA - This is decent webcam and quite interesting one for people like me who have never seen such big buildings or experienced life in a big city. Full of   buildings and roads crammed with cars. I bet there are annoyed drivers all over the place here.

GERMANY- Lots of trees but a bit naff in terms of the size of the cam although it is LIVE which along with the trees and the fact you can remotely control this cam, these are its only strong points.

FRANCE - (No remote control) Interesting site. You can either view a TV channel (called Musique Plus) or see what's going on inside the studio. Good idea although I've yet to find anything exciting going on yet.

USA - (No remote control) Near San Francisco Bay as far as I can tell. Several different cams to look at here. Not bad, quite good I would guess if I could actually get round to viewing this site when its daytime there and that it also had remote control.

GERMANY - Cute but could be better. Small cam size but it can be remotely controlled. Nice farm views of fields and the farm itself.

HELP - I've forgotten where this one was from. If you know, drop me a line. Its from a school/college and the cam is remotely controllable. Not bad in terms of LIVE and controllable but I bit bland at times on what you see going on.

Best Sources for Webcams (Normal and LIVE)

Can't take complete credit here, I found these LIVE cam websites by looking at various different sites devoted to webcams. Here are the main ones that I have used, starting with the best.

http://www.earthcams.com

This is by far the best webcam site around. Every webcam viewer's dream.

My old favourite before EarthCams was discovered.
