                I am a May 2002 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication in the electronic communication sequence.  I am looking for a position where I can utilize my college education and create a top-notch sports broadcast for a local television market or a position where my communication skills can be used to promote high volumes of sales.

Recent Work Experience

October 2002-Current:  Sales Representative for Best Buy of Winston-Salem

  • Assigned to the media department
  • Responsible for keeping up with latest releases of music, movies, games and software
  • Was promoted to full time status through being one of the top sellers in the department
  • Was entry-level acting supervisor (senior) for three months while a supervisor was on leave of absence

June 2002-September 2002:  Manager of Players Choice Videogames, Hanes Mall Blvd Store

  • Managed a locally owned video game store
  • Maintained a weekly inventory
  • Gained valuable customer service, managerial, and sales experience

Summer 2001:  WXII TV:  Paid Sports Department Intern

  • Shot baseball and arena football stories on location at night, many times by myself.  Would return in time to edit footage and write script on tight deadlines for the 11 p.m. broadcast
  • Edited VO/SOTs on Betacam SP on linear editing systems for 5, 6 and 11 pm broadcasts
  • Took satellite feeds for 5, 6 and 11 pm broadcasts
