Here are some poems...some stuff people gave me, some I found, and a few I wrote...

Some people

Some people walk into our lives and quickly go

Some people move our souls to dance.  They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom.

Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.  They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.

This poem is for someone who means the world to me. I hope you liked it, and I pray you got the message.
The sobering reality of life sets in and you strive to stay afloat. Innocence lost and truths of the bitterness in an aged soul. Worries and concerns of a friend no longer belong to you. The energy you once had sucked into oblivion. Time passes, you lose yourself and wonder what you loved to do.
The simple tasks you once took pleasure in, you do out of routine. Enduring the pain of friends lost, and those who also see no pleasure anymore. It is a haze, what you once believed to be true. You took your eyes off the target, and now your bearings are gone.
Failing to see the love others behold for you, you contemplate the unthinkable. The tendency is now yours, you linger on sweet words spoken to you long ago. Let yourself be surrounded by the father. He does not forget about the lost souls, one never looses salvation.
Forget your grievances, there are those who need you so. Overlook the reality that hardens the soul and stay strong so those around us do not weaken.
We are unable to let go of those we love. Every moment a constant reminder of the pain we have caused. Yearning to make things right, we only search in vain. We all do what is needed in order to survive.
Recognize the truths and you will be successful at putting up a wall but only because you have overcompensated and failed to allow others in. Knowing that there may be no one in existence but God who is able to tear it down. Still we construct it, so no one can harm you as the last one did. Becoming so closed, you lose the person you once knew.
Clawing for solitude, a way out of the darkness. Never let go, for it is not yet your time. The hardest times must come before we see the light. Your angels surround you, and they will keep you courageous.

Images imbeded in my head of the storm, the heartache
Ashamed of my yearning but all fades in reality
Fate has lead us to our destination
Tears of desparate desire...
A fall from grace
In the clear moonlit sky frozen in time

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart ant it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up this whole armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They don't ask for it. They do something dumb one day like kiss you, or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so a simlpe phrase like "maybe we should just be friends" or "how very perceptive" turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love"
-Neil Gaiman

People living for themselves
Pushing over anyone who stands in the way
Never being happy for what they have obtained
Greedy hands dirty with pain and grief

Children taught no values
A lack of pride and self worth
Constantly searching souls
Seeking love desperately

The longing for a promise
The inability to believe in what they can’t see

No questioning of morals
Baggage being brought along
Remorse hid
A lifetime packed of pain

Soon becoming out of control
An overwhelming pit
Who is bold enough to begin?

I am only one
The start comes with me
I am making the time to bother
WWJD?

Drawn into the realm of chaos
My mind wanders aimlessly but uneasily
I try and repress the urge to ponder on "us"
Knowing it might be threatening.
The endless love you had for me
My hostility begins to emerge
I feel the impulse to scream and end my suffering
Who really lived a happy ending?
My anger fades as I realize my reliance was the destruction
Fate knows best, a reunion may never make an appoitment
All the inadequacies I faced have disintegrated
I wake up knowing I need not reach for sensibitily any longer.

You search for truth in every direction
But the clouds of sin have covered your way
All you long for is someone's protection
And the strength to survive just one more day
You now want to believe in something real
Your tired of the lies, deception and sadness
Your searching for the one thing that will fill
And take away all of this sad madness
Look through the clouds see the setting sun
My friend there will always be hope for you
Life is eternal and has just begun
Trust in God and he will see you through
Just don't give in to the lies of sin
They are a pit that will suck you right in

God please remind us as through our lives we go
And as the winds of change toss us to and fro
Remind us that your love is always there to guide
And to protect us each on every side
You said you would never leave us
And I've found this to be true
You have forgotten all the times I've turned away from you
I'll never understand the fullness of your love
But I can feel its power as you send it from above
You cannot accept our sin, but you receive us as we are
Teach us to do the same never rejecting one
So we may reflect the glory of your son
Our lives are now changing
And there is one thing I know
That your spirit will guide us
And with us your love will go
We need you now more than ever
And with every day more
Teach us to come running
When you knock at out hearts door.
AMEN

Never
Never say I love you
If you really dont care
Never talk about feelings
If they arent really there
Never hold my hand
If you are going to break my heart
Never say you are going to
If you dont plan to start
Never look into my eyes
If all you do is lie
Never say hello
If you really mean good bye
If you really mean forever
Then say you will try
Never say forever
Cause forever makes me cry

You are lost in your confusion, not finding a way
Feelings of sorrow not drifting away
Keep the faith my friend, cause we are never alone

Do not shut yourself off because you are afraid
Little do you know.I feel so betrayed
Keep the faith my friend, cause we are never alone

We find ourselves on top.just to discover we are on the bottom again
Disappointing realities limit our imaginations
We find our weary souls longing for more
Keep the faith my friend, cause we are never alone

Empty words consume our lives
We risk so much by showing our heart
The time that we do.exposing too much
Keep the faith my friend, cause we are never alone

Someday we will find that one trustworthy person
Who knows us so well, with true feelings of affection
Keep the faith my friend, cause we are never alone

The shriveled heart that we have can only be filled by the love for one
He is the one that sustains us through all our toils.
When we enter his Kingdom we will understand all, but until then
Keep the faith my friend, cause we are never alone

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to
know if you have touched the center of your sorrow, if you have been
opened by life's betrayals, or have become shriveled and closed from
fear of further pain! I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine and your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know if you can be with JOY, mine or your own: if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want
to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself: if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore trustworthy. I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty everyday, and if you can source your life from its presence. I want to know if you can live with failure, yours or mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon.

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you
have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and
despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.

It doesn't interest me who you are, or how you came to be here. I want
to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not
shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I
want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
