Me:

My name is Abhijeet Godbole. I was born on 16th March 1976, in my hometown, Pune. Living in a joint family always is an experience worth enjoying. It inculcates in you a sense of security, teamwork and a sense of togetherness. The rights are added, the duties are divided, the sorrows are subtracted and the joy is multiplied. I am fortunate enough to be a part of such a joint-family. The amount of discipline, as well as affection, that I received helped me develop into a mature, yet humorous, individual, in the subsequent years of my life.

I completed my High School Education from Seth Dagduram Katariya High School, Pune. During my High School Life, I met my life time friends-circle, which, even now, exists, with the name SATGANG. The games, movies, treks, camps, filled my high school life with a rainbow of colors. The memories of these years of my life are sharp and fresh, even now, and they will remain evergreen forever.

After High School, I embraced the Science Stream to satisfy all my curiosities about Science. I completed my Higher Secondary Education from Sir Parshurambhau College, Pune.

During these years, I got attracted towards Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, of all branches of Engineering. The vast expanse of the subject, stamping its importance on almost all facets of human life, awed me immensely. In particular, I was even more impressed by the speed with which the field of Polymer Engineering was developing at that time. Fully understanding the importance, which Polymers were going to grab from the world in the near future, I decided to join the Polymer Engineering stream.

While doing Polymer Engineering at the Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune, I also got an opportunity to enjoy 'Engineering Life', as it is termed. I made a lot of friends. We used to enjoy the cultural events, the annual social gathering, the Rose Day, the Traditional Day, the Black & White Day. I participated in our inter-class cricket competitions.

The four golden years of Engineering helped me shape my future. It was during this time that I became really interested in pursuing higher studies in Polymers. After completing my Engineering, I joined the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, in order to gain some hands-on experience in the use of equipment, which are used in the Polymer Industry. Two years at NCL taught me what amount of effort goes into pure industrial research. But the challenge allured me and I decided to pursue for my Masters in Polymer Engineering, abroad.
