Curriculum
The MBA curriculum is based on two
years of full-time study, with an internship in industry during the summer between the First and Second years. A balanced mix
of lectures, case studies, group projects, presentations, simulations, role play and
fieldwork challenges students to hone their analytical, decision-making, and leadership
skills.
B.K.'s curriculum is divided into three parts: the core courses, major courses, and
electives. The first year comprises the MBA Core. The first-year core provides students
with a broad exposure to functional areas of business applicable to many types of
businesses. It focuses on foundation tools-information systems, accounting, marketing,
finance, organizational behavior, economics, statistics, production and operations
management, communication skills, and contemporary managerial concepts. These core topics
are interwoven throughout the first and second semesters as students are faced with the
challenge of identifying and solving complex business problems.
During the second year of the program, students complete a specialization pertaining to
their career objectives. It comprises of major courses and electives. It gives a deeper
insight in to subjects like - Entrepreneurship, Business strategy, Business Law and Public
Enterprise Management. Students can select electives like Marketing research, Sales and
Distribution, Advertising, Consumer Behavior and International Marketing to pursue
specialization in Marketing. They can also select electives like Tax planning, Investment
management, Financial systems and Control systems to pursue a finance specialization. |
