DELTA ZETA FOUNDERS

The Delta Zeta National Sorotity was founded at Miami Univeristy on October 24, 1902. The founders of Delta Zeta: Julia Biship, Anne Simmons, Mary Collins, Mabelle Minton, Anna Keen and Alpha Lloyd are pictured above. Delta Zeta was founded at a time where women were not encouraged to attend college and therefore faced a lot of unnecessary pressures at Universities. The founders of Delta Zeta believed that women shared a common bond and worked together to make their dreams of sisterhood and the sense of belonging a reality for fellow female students and future Delta Zeta's. When Delta Zeta began at Miami University nobody know how successful it would be, but through the years many local chapters became Delta Zeta chapters and currently Delta Zeta is the largest national sorority in the world. There are Delta Zeta chapters in the United States of American and Canada.
