The Alumni Association was set up in 1993, at the initiative of Hong Liang Qiao, at that time at the University of Queensland. The Association has six branches in Australia. State and Territory branches have organised several social activities. Gillian Bridgewater from the ACT produced several editions of a newsletter Degrees South for the Association.
