10/02/99 - Netect Inc have issued an advisory stating that Wuarchive ftpd (2.4.2-academ[BETA-18]) and ProFTPD(1.2.0pre1) contain remotely exploitable buffer overflows allowing root access.   Click here to read.

09/02/99 - Big man Bill's stake in Microsoft is down 1% from what he heald in early september.   His share is now only worth $82 billion, only ?  More on the story here.

09/02/99 - An Air Force Academy cadet has been charged with cracking the computers of three private companies and causing  $40,000 in damage.  This isbelived to be the first computer crime to reach courts martial status in the Air Force and the cadet could spend upto 15 and half years in fedral prison.  More here.

09/02/99 - An Internet2 network is set to go live on Feb 24th to demonstrate the faster, more secure and more reliable Internet of the future.  More info here.

08/02/99 - The new Linux2.2.0 kernal has the horse power to preform at enterprise level.  More on the tests here.

08/02/99 - Windows 2000 hits more turblance !!  Well we all knew it was getting released around early April 1901, but there are now compatibility issues that are plagueing microsoft.  But currently only about 60& of window nt software can run on the current win2000beta!!!!!  Read more at pcweek.

08/02/99 - I have made the javascript examples page and included two scripts on there (so far).   Go check it out and if you have any trouble leave a message on my weboard.   Alot of people have been asking about the telnet section and that will be up as soon as I finish my page on networking basics which soon be in a few weeks or so.

05/02/99 - Microsoft have been awarded a patent that could give the company control over important open standards used in the construction of web sites.  Read more at wired.

05/02/99 - Disney's recently launched Go Network is charging ahead with a direct email campaign.   It is sending out username and passwords in a "completly" unsecure way hence making it possible to view other personal info like credit card numbers.  More on the story at cnet.

03/02/99 - United Medias web site that hosts the Dilbert comic strip has been broken into and an email database dateing back to March '98 has been stolen.  The 'crackers' are selling it at $5 a copy.  More info here.

03/02/99 - Bug found in FAO Schwarz system, found by, who i belive to be  hhn.   Anyone that has order products from there, your name, address and email address are all viewable to "joe user".  FAO Schwarz have been notifyied about the problem but hhn haven't heard back.  Take a look at the following URL and make up your own mind !

02/02/99 - I read this in the paper this morning and had to laugh.  Paul Smith, 29, who designed Access Denied Firewall is fighting to clear his name after six default and a county court judgement were added to his records.  The attack came from a hacker who says he was "humliatied" because he couldn't get past his firewall.  Read more @ The Daily Telegraph.

02/02/99 - Updated security section, and updated windows section to explain how to take advantage of a machine running windows95/98 that has file sharing enabled.  If you don't know I suggust you read as this is some really basic shit.

02/02/99 - I come across this earlier and thought is was funny as fuck.  Seattle man killed by Blue Screen of Death.

02/02/99 - A teenager from Montreal has been arrested for "hacking".  He brought down an ISP for 5 hours with a smurf attack.  For his DoS crimes he may end up doing 10 years in jail.  He should of cleared up the logs, tut tut.  He claims that if he goes to jail, his group "SegFault" would shut down Montreal in a second.  Full story here and here.
