Computer Department of AIT
The gradual though slow development of the computer industry till the last decade has suddenly
been followed by a bewildering expansion on the international scene. The change in the concepts,
technology, process of thinking, and management of human resources which have come in the wake
of computers, seems to have heralded a revolution which is the beginning of a more intelligent
civilization. This has led to an acute shortage of qualified and talented software and hardware
engineers in the industry.
The Computer Department was setup with the aim of providing state-of-the art education and
training to talented students from all over India.The department aims at providing its students with the tools and knowledge necessary
to succeed in today's competitive world. The department has always aimed at developing students
to be all round performers. We take pride in our computer engineers, who apart from being
excellent engineers are also outstanding in all other fields.
Laboratories
Programming Language Laboratory
This Laboratory is used by the students of First & Second Year for Pascal & C respectively.This
laboratory has 14 terminals .The software used here is Pascal , C and Cobol.
LAN Laboratory
This Lab is used by the students of Third Year for Cobol .This lab has 16 terminals
(all Pentiums).The software used here is C,Cobol,C++,Lisp,Windows.The operating system is Novell Netware.
Unix Laboratory
This Lab is used by the students Final Year for their projects.This lab has 31 terminals.The
Operating Systems used here include Red Hat Linux, Slackware Linux , Windows 95 , Windows 98 , Windows NT . The servers used are AIX and RS/6000.This
Laboratory is also equipped with Internet facilities.All computers used here are Pentium.
Hardware Laboratory
This Lab is used by the students of Second & Third Year for the study of microprocessors .This lab has
11 terminals ( all Pentium 200's ) for assembly language programming.This lab also has various micrprocessor
kits like 8085,8086 etc.
