The Free Interactive Fiction FAQ
JIGSAW Java Interactive Game System Authorship W
JIGSAW is a free Interactive Fiction system implemented in Java. It is released under the GNU General Public License version 2.
- 0.1.1 Spanish and French versions of Cloak of Darkness added.
- 0.1.0 First release.
Other
- Bad Mojo A proof of concept. Can one IF work can be modified to become a different one just by changing the text? Requires JIGSAW Cloak of Darkness 1.1 above.
- Parser.java: A sample IF parser written in Java. It was written quickly, was meant to be easy to port to C, and was written while ignoring good programming practices. This program is in the public domain.
- Parser2.java: Another sample IF parser written in Java. This one was written with better programming practices. This program is released under the GNU General Public License.
- IFMLEngine.java.gz contains my modifications of the IFML engine so IFML games can be played on the command line (without using a web browser). You'll also need the replacement characters.xml.gz file which fixes a small bug. This program is released under the GNU General Public License (however, I believe that the original author is planning to re-release this program under the zlib/libpng license in the future). The original IFML project is at http://ifml.sourceforge.net/
