More Than You Ever Wanted To Know About Phil

(if you already know me, you probably know more than you wanted to anyhow ;-) )

Where do I begin?

Well, I guess I should begin with what it is I actually do with my life.
I am currently employed as a consultant in the field of software engineering (computer programming in lay terms), which takes up about 40 hours (ok, more like 50 with the commute) of each week.
After work, I visit the place I suppose would be described as "home", though I am rarely found there, and then am usually found hanging out w/friends for most of the rest of my waking hours (which number many more than they really should). On the rare occasion that I am home, I'm usually catching up on things that need done for the apt and/or chatting online and/or playing GTA: Vice City. Oh yeah, I do find time for that 'sleep' thing on (far too) rare occasion too :-).

So what do I actually DO in my spare time?

Well, it depends where I am as to what I end up doing with my time. As sad as it may sound, I do enjoy undertaking some programming projects. But that requires me to be sitting at home in front of my computer, and I really try to avoid sitting around in my spare time - I get enough of that at work every day. That, and I've got no good ideas for what to program anyhow.
I also have a small network set up in my house, even though most of my projects relating to it are such low priority that I've gotten pretty much nowhere on them. (yes, I know you are all making the 'computer geek' comments. Just remember, it's what I do, and I don't get a chance to do what all I really enjoy at work) Hopefully one of these days I'll find the time to get everything up and running, a task that also would require my time at home in front of the computers. *shrug* It's a long term project that gives me something to do I suppose.
But seriously, I try to be a fairly active person when I can find the opportunity (unfortunately they are in short supply). I LOVE to play hockey and volleyball, and I enjoy hiking/walking (and just about anything else that gets me out of the house). Unfortunately, the weather and my friends do not always cooperate, but that's not a problem. I also enjoy rp'ing or even just sitting around shooting the breeze (most frequently what happens). I'm usually open to try new things once or twice though (one bad experience could be a fluke).
