Assault Rigs Items

There are seven different Items to use in Assault Rigs. The manual Calls them the Secondary Weapons. Listed below are the items and a little better description of them and their use than in the manual. Select the items with the R2 button.
Drop Mines
This item is one of the two weapons in the item category. They are basically useless, even in link-up games, since mines can be shot at and detonated, if you are trying to drop them as someone is following you in hopes that they will run over them you will probably take more damage being shot by them than your Drop Mines will do to them. #
Shield
A great item to use when you want to rush through an arena without taking damage. When the Shield is activated you are completely invulnerable, even from below your rig. Once activated the shield can not be manually turned off, it must wear off. Guard the Shield in link-up games or simply destroy it so that the other player can't use it. The item looks like a red and white shield. 1
Warp
The Warp item takes your rig to a pre-determined point on the current arena. Usually this will take you to the exit block, or to a place where you have to go after a push block is moved into place. The item looks like a red and white security card. #
Push Block
The Push Block item puts an fake push block around your rig. When activated enemies and other rigs during link-up games can not see your rig. You can drive around as much as you like and the Push Block will stay over you, but if you shoot your weapon it will disappear. It will also disappear after a certain amount of time. #
Auto Turret
The Auto Turret is one of the best items in the game as long as you use the right rig. It can be used by the Heavy or Middle rig, but not the Light rig. This item will make your turret point directly at the closest enemy, no the enemy that poses the biggest threat. It will also point through barriers like walls and ramps that can't be shot through when the closest enemy is on the other side of them. When the Auto Turret is activated you can use any weapon in your arsenal along with it, even the Guided Missile even though it serves no point since your view changes when you fire it. The Auto Turret does not move you r turret up or down to the closest enemy. The item looks like a blue "T" that is supposed to be a turret. #
Sentry Gun
You will only pick-up the Sentry Gun item a few times throughout the entire game. It's a great item to use during link-up games by stick around a corner or near the exit. After you drop a Sentry Gun, you have about three to five seconds to get clear of it before it arms itself. Any object that is in it's range when it is armed or moves into it's range will be shot at, including you. #
Shield Restore When playing a level with a Shield Restore in it, it is always a good idea to know exactly where it is so in case you are starting to run low on shields, you can get to it quickly. Usually the only time that you will find the Shield Restore item in an arena is because the level has a lot of enemies and you will take a lot of hits. Guard the Shield Restore in link-up games or simply destroy it so that the other player can't use it. The Shield Restore works automatically once it is picked-up to restore all your shields to new. It can not be held onto and used at a later time like standard items. The item looks like a D cell Duracell battery. #

All items are found by shooting the blue boxes found through the arenas. The weapons are also found in the blue boxes. To get the item just drive through it. Do not shoot the item once it is revealed from inside the blue box because it will be destroyed and you will have to wait for the blue box to respawn in order to pick it up.

Items will respawn after a short amount of time but you shouldn't waste you time sitting near where one will appear after you pick it up since you will pick-up the maximum amount the first time you pick it up.
