Assault Rigs Weapons

There are seven different primary weapons to use in Assault Rigs. The manual talks about the Secondary Weapons. I have listed these as these in the Items section since most of theme are items and only two of them, the Drop and Forget Mines and the Sentry Gun Pods, are really weapons. Listed below are the weapons and a little better description of them and their use than in the manual. Select the weapons with the L2 button.
Standard Ammo
This is your basic ammo. You have unlimited shots. This is the weakest ammo next to the Shatter Ammo's shattered shots. Unlimited
Bounce Ammo
The Bounce Ammo is a little stronger than the Standard Ammo, but it will bounce off of walls and ramps four times until it stops. If you get hit by your own shot, you will take damage. 30
Shatter Ammo
Shatter Ammo can be split into smaller shells two different ways. First, if you hit the X button a second time while a shot is already in the air, it will split into five smaller shots. Also, if a shot hits a wall or ramp it will split into five smaller shots. When a ramp is hit, the smaller shots will ricochet at the same angle as the ramp. The smaller shots are the weakest in the game. If you get hit by your own shot, you will take damage. 25
Homing Missile
Homing Missiles are a pretty good weapon to use if you know their limitations. Don't expect them to make sharp corners, either left and right or up and down. They take off a good amount of damage, but you can't carry too many at a time. They are very good in open spaces and during link-up games. 6
Laser
The Laser is probably tied with the Guided Missiles for the best weapon in the game. Most enemies can be destroyed with one or two shots, and the rate of fire is pretty good. The amount that can be held at one time usually lasts throughout the entire arena if you aim your shot well. 15
Minigun
Contrary to what the opening sequence has you believe, the Minigun won't make you look as cool as Jesse Ventura and "Old Painless" in Predator. The rate of fire is obviously the best in the game, and the shots take about as much damage as the Standard Ammo. The big drawback is the distance that the bullets can travel. You have to be about five or so squares away from a target to hit it. Unfortunately in Assault Rigs enemies can see you almost two squares farther, so you're usually getting fired upon when using the Minigun. 250
Guided Missile
The Guided Missiles, along with the Laser, is the best weapon in the game. It does have one unavoidable, and extremely limiting fault. When you fire a Guided Missile you are completely open to enemy attacks. You also can't hold very many of them at a time, but this isn't really that big of a problem. After you shoot a Guided Missile your view is changed to that of the missile. You can fly it around wherever you want. It will detonate upon impact with a solid object, enemy, or even yourself. After about forty-five seconds, it will detonate by itself and your view will go back to your rig. The Guided Missile is as powerful as the Homing Missile. 3

All weapons are found by shooting the blue boxes found within the arenas. The items are also found in the blue boxes. To get the weapon just drive through it. Do not shoot the weapon once it is revealed from inside the blue box because it will be destroyed and you will have to wait for the blue box to respawn in order to pick it up.

Weapons will respawn after a short amount of time but you shouldn't waste you time sitting near where one will appear after you pick it up since you will pick-up the maximum amount the first time you pick it up.
