About Me

School: I am a third year student at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. In my first year, I was a Computer Science major but after taking a year of calculus I decided to change my major to Biology, with my main areas of interest being Zoology and Genetics. I am still not sure what I am going to do with a Biology degree but i would like to work with animals in some way or another.

Interests: I love any activity that involves being outdoors... summer or winter. Some of my favorite activities are camping and skiing... although I don't get to do either all that often. I also enjoy biking and in-line skating.

Activities: Last year i did some work with the Wild and Exotic Animal Medicine Society (WEAMS) at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (at the U of S). This is a program which is run by vet students. They treat injured wildlife, usually birds, and then, if possible, release them. I would like to do this again but unfortunately, there are only a limited number of volunteers needed so i likely won't get the chance.

This year, my roommate and i joined to U of S Ballroom Dancing Club. I have never been much of a dancer but I am really enjoying it so far. I am presently in one of the beginner classes and so far we have learned the basic steps for the foxtrot, waltz, jive, rhumba, cha-cha and samba. We have also learned some of the turns for these dances. The club currently has nearly 1600 (that's right... 1600) members and holds two semi-formal dances and two formal dinner and dances each year.
