PETALING JAYA: Sabah's karate exponents won the overall champions title at the 9th National Junior Karate-do Championships held at the Mahkota Parade in Malacca yesterday.

They collected three gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

Runners-up went to the Goshin-Ryu team with three gold and five bronze. Penang came in third with two gold, two silver and two bronze.

The best overall performer went to Goshin-Ryu's Prissy Soo, a form four student from SMK Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur.

According to Malaysian Karate Federation secretary-general Clement Soo, 15 affiliates with more than 500 exponents took part in the three-day championships.
