SKILLS:

WRITING: I have written approximately 100 articles for publication in college newspapers. I have edited over 300 articles. I am experienced both in article and essay writing.

SPEAKING: As a member of the Claremont Colleges speech and debate team I was involved in parliamentary debate.

COMPUTERS: I have designed web pages for the Pomona College Alumni Association, The Claremont Colleges Young Democrats Club, and The Student Life. I have been responsible for lay-out and design of over 100 college newspaper pages on Pagemaker or Quark Express. I am familiar with Microsoft Word, Works, Workperfect, Pagemaker, Quark Express, Photoshop, HTML, Netscape, Internet Explorer and other e-mail, multimedia and graphics applications.

RESEARCH: I have researched using legal periodicals, the world wide web, LEXIS/NEXIS, libraries and newspapers. I have completed between one and three research papers every semester in college.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Section Editor, The Student Life, Claremont, CA (1998): Opinions editor for the student life. I help run a section, design pages, edit copy, and assign and write articles.

Office Assistant and Web Designer, The Pomona College Office of Alumni Relations, Claremont, CA (1997): I designed web pages, edit copy, made fliers and did some general office work.

Web Design Team, The Student Life, Claremont, CA (1997): Helped design web site.

Section Editor, The Student Life, Claremont, CA (1996-1997): Jobs included associate News editor, Sports editor and Arts & Entertainment editor. I assigned articles and photos, wrote stories, edited copy, designed layout and supervised paste up of my section.
