Ahmedabad is a city of about 4 million people. It is the commercial capital of Gujarat a state in Western India. Ahmedabad was famous for its cotton mills most of which are closed now. Now Ahmedabad is known as an important business centre with many small and big factories and businesses running here . It has also got many tourist attractions like Sabarmati Ashram,Julta Minars(Shaking Minarates), Kankaria Lake, Siddi Sayed's Mosque, Hussain Doshi Caves, Bhadra fort. Also there are hundreds of beautiful Hindu and Jain temples found in every corner of the city. A few distance away is the famous Akshardam temple of the Swaminarayan sect which has member in all the parts of the world

We have here many places to hang out like the countless restaurants and eating places on C.G.Road, Law Garden besides tea and coffee bars (known as ketli) found near all the colleges. We also have the famous Drive-In cinema in which people wait for as long as 4-5 hours in queue to see a movie on some days

Ahmedabad is also known as an educational city because of the many colleges found here. Ahmedabad is home to many renowned educational institution like Indian Institute of Management, Centre for Enviromental Planning and Technology(which has School of Building Science and Technology, School of Architecture, School of Interior Design and School of Planning), National Institute of Design, National Institute of Fashion Technology and of course my own college L.D.College of Engineering.
