My Native American Indian Dedication Page

Under MAJOR Construction

Updated 8/8/00

I am about a one-quarter Blackfoot Indian. Ever since I was told that I had Native American ancestors, I've been doing research on Native Americans. My maternal great-grandmother was full-blooded Blackfoot and my paternal great-grandfather was also full-blooded Blackfoot who had owned some lands in Graniteville (Aiken), South Carolina. How did the Blackfoot get to South Carolina when most of the tribe is in the Sasketchwan, Alberta and Montana region? That is what I'm intending to research my genealogy on.

Why am I so engrossed in learning my Native American heritage even though I'm mostly Black? Well, I believe that you shouldn't deny any of your heritage and without knowing your ancestors and what they have struggled to get you where you are, you have not truly evolved. I'm very proud of my heritage. I am blessed with having African, Native American and (some) European ancestors. Want to know why I've taken this upon myself to mention to you? See my purpose page.

Now onto the real subject of this page. Like I said before, I'm a quarter Blackfoot Indian. In my research for information on the Blackfoot, I've found some sites on the Web and through extensive studies about them. I also have a page dedicated to Black Indians with links as well. The purpose of this dedication page is to acknowledge, inform, and hopefully aid in further research on different Native American Nations. This page will show links to databases, genealogy sites, and general sites for most of the nations of Native Americans. This page will be constantly updated so please come back often for the latest sites on this topic.

DISCLAIMER TIME: I just want to make this clear. I'm doing this page for everyone's education as well as my own. I do not have any official tribal ties to my Blackfoot heritage nor do I know how to do so. I had received several emails in the past asking me how to register. I have no earthly idea, but I'm sure there are ways to find out. As soon as I find out, I'll update the page with that info. Thank you!
