A two-tiered program of study was therefore designed and offered by the Department consisting of Business Management (corporate) and Entrepreneurship (small business) Programs under the Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree. The eventual spin-off of the two (2) programs into separate departments in the 1990s led to the Business Management Department's redirection and reformulation of its curriculum to reflect sole corporate business management thrust.

Business Management Department
School of Commerce
St. Scholastica's College, Manila
In its early years (1964-71), the Business Management Department carried on the traditional philosophy and vision stated by the College Department through its AB business administration course. A major transition in the philosophy and vision of the Department happened in decade of 1980 as it envisioned a more discernible Scholastican graduate who will become future corporate business manages and executives, who are not merely problem solvers but positive thinkers, innovators and creators.
At the same time it reinforced the program by expanding its field of concern to include small business management, i.e., entrepreneurial training to beef up its concern for corporate business management education.
