The name of the venue, The Mousee Club, is meant to be a joke about my college bar, The Rathskeller, which I thought was commonly referred to as The Ratt. Turns out, it's simply called The Rat. Oops.
The member of the rock band in panel 1 is based on Roger Clyne, lead singer of my favorites band(s) The Refreshments/The Peacemakers.
It took me a while to decide what instrument the Professor would be an expert at. For a long time, the oboe was in the lead.
I started using a ruler for text in this strip.
