Fall 1998
• A day trip on Wednesday, 16 September 1998 to Philadelphia.

• Volunteered at the Ben Jones Art Show, which raised over $15,000 for the HCC Foundation!

• RakuFest 1998 (our first).

• Donated a shelf and brackets to the Art Department, so that more works could be displayed in the outside hallway showcase.

• Pottery Sale in the Classroom Auditorium--netting over $200 for the Art Club!

• Put on the Fall 1998 Student Art Show, with an Artists' Reception that included live music and a showing of our edited In Excelsior Clay--Thrown (The RakuFest highlights).

• Advertised the Fall Art Show with a raffling off of a Chris Foxwell casserole.

• A three day, two night trip to New York City, from the early morning of Sunday, 20 December 1999 until late evening on Tuesday, 22 December 1998.

Spring 1999
• Two Pottery Sales before Spring Break--the earliest the Club has ever put on sales. We set up at the Flower and Garden Show and at the Hagerstown City Market Sunday Fair--two new venues for us, giving the Club, the Department, and the College publicity!

• Donated a torch vase to the campus Match-a-Meal campaign for the hungry. The campaign raised at least $135.66!

• Put on-line the Evan Crossley E-Gallery, our own virtual gallery, on Friday, 12 March.

• Sent four students with Professor Ben Culbertson to the NCECA Convention in Columbus, Ohio from the evening of Tuesday, 16 March until early in the morning of Sunday, 21 March 1999. This was the first time the Club had sent members to this national potters' convention.

• Tagged along on the Art department Trip to the National Gallery of art in washington, D. C. on Sunday, 11 april.

• Spring RakuFest on Thursday, 22 April (Earth Day).

• Sponsored a Brushmaking Workshop by Mr. Glen Grishkoff on Tuesday, 27 April in the Main Studio (CP-126 C).

• Put on the Spring 1999 Student Art Show, which ran longer than ever before and had its entries judged! (It ran from Monday, 10 May until 3:30 pm on Wednesday, 19 May, with the Meet the Artists' Reception on Monday, 10 May from6 until 8 pm .

• Put on an Open Mike Night in the Kepler Theater on Friday, 14 May to help advertise the Art Show.

• Advertised this Spring Art Show with the raffling off of four donated art prizes from Professor Ben Culbertson , Professor Nancy Crossley Blank , Chad Wiles , and Brian Todd Simmons .

Summer 1999
• Tagged along on the Art Department Trip to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D. C. on Sunday, 27 June .

• Went to Doylestown, Pennsylvania's Mercer Museum, Moravian Tileworks, and Font Hill Museum on Monday, 19 July.

• Went to Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Fells Point on Thursday, 12 August .

Fall 1999
• Showed off our club at the College's Club Fair on Tuesday, 21 September in the ARCC. We held a raffle there with the prize being the choice of a free entance ticket on our upcoming Richmond trip or a ceramic pen.

• Went to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday, 16 October, to view a special Egyptian exhibit as well as their other collections.

• Received a grant from Maryland 2000 to match our new Student Activities funds to put on a series of lectures and workshops to be called "High Touch in the High Tech Millenium".

• Put on a lecture, "The Business of Art", by Nannette Clapman Blinchikoff on Saturday, 13 November in CP-209. This was the first of these "High Touch in the High Tech Millenium" series.

• Special Preview Tour of the Learning Resource Center (the new LRC Building) with guide John Taub on Thursday, 18 November.

• Fall RakuFest on Tuesday, 23 November 1999.

• Put on an Art Sale on Wednesday, 1 December from 11 am until 7 pm, selling 42 works and raising money for the Club.

• Helped sponsor the AIDS Quilt Panel on World AIDS Day, Wednesday, 1 December and Thursday, 2 December . We were in charge of the signature cloth (like a guestbook).

• Put on the Fall 1999 Student Art Show, which included extended nighttime viewing hours: Monday Morning, 13 December thru Friday Afternoon, 17 December.

• Put on the Meet the Artists' Reception on Monday, 13 December, with Cindy Digulimio catering. A photographer from the Herald-Mail took pictures, which were on page 1 of the morning paper and page 2 of the evning paper.

• Went to New York City, Sunday, 19 December thru Tuesday Night, 21 December. The group went en masse to the Brooklyn Museum of Art.

Spring 2000
• Went to see the "Sublime Servers" exhibit at the Baltimore Clayworks, Saturday, 26 February, as well as the Clayworks' supply store, and the Potters Guild of Baltimore.

• Members donated works for the Potters' Bowl on Sunday, 27 February, which raised funds for the Community Free Clinic of Hagerstown.

• Helped send one of our members to the NCECA Convention in Denver, Colorado.

• Went to peruse many of Frederick's galleries on Saturday Afternoon, 1 April, including the Tatem Arts Center at Hood College and the Delaplaine Visual Art Center's "Fire & Glass" show (and reception).

• Tagged along on the Art Department Trip to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D. C. on Sunday, April 9.

• Co-sponsored with the Art Department a Clay Olympics at the college's CollegeFest on Sunday, 30 April. It included this semester's RakuFest.

• Put on the Spring Student Art Show from Monday Morning, 8 May thru Monday Afternoon, 15 May in the Kepler Theater Lobby. The Show entries were judged.

• The Artists' Reception was an Ice Cream Social! It was held on Monday Evening, 8 May from 6 pm to 8 pm.

• Advertised this Spring Art Show with the raffling off of four donated art prizes, with the drawing at the Reception.

• We hosted a Lecture: The Pottery of Shenandoah" by Eugene Comstock on Friday, 12 May from 6 pm until 7 pm at the Kepler Theater as part of the "High Touch in the High Tech Millenium" series.

• We hosted "The Handmade Paper Experience with Ellen Kennedy" on Saturday, 13 May from 11 am until 5 pm in the Main Studio, CP-126 C, as part of "High Touch in the High Tech Millenium".

• We held a two-day Tilemaking Workshop with Moravian Pottery & Tile Works' Adam Zayas on Friday, 26 May from 10 am until 5 pm & Saturday, 27 May from 9 am until 5 pm.--another in the "High Touch in the High Tech Millenium" series.

Fall 2000
• Co-sponsored with the International Club a photographic opportunity trip to Endless Caverns and Skyline Caverns, as well as leaf-peeping in George Washington National Forest and on the Skyline Drive on Saturday, 7 October.

• Went to the Torpedo Factory Arts Center in Alexandria, Virginia on Saturady, 28 October.

• Donated two Art Club Raku cups and other pottery from current and past members to Hood College's Saturday, 4 November fundraiser for Sudanese widows and children refugees in Uganda.

• RakuFest V on Wednesday, 8 November with guests from Saint Maria Goretti High School.

• Lecture on Magazine Cartooning on Friday, 10 November by Jim Sizemore, gag cartoonist seen in many national publications.

• Art Marathon! from Friday, 10 November at noon thru Saturday, 11 November at 8 am.

• Provided help for the Ben & David Jones Art Show on Friday, 17 November. This show, which was also held on Saturday, 18 November, was a charity event to help fund scholarships for HCC students.
