This is sort of a hall of fame for my pre-college teachers. Anyone who makes it here deserves mad props.

Mrs. Barbara Ellis was my orchesrta director in 7th grade. For the first time in my life, I knew what it meant to love music. She taught me so much, and I probably would not be a musician today if it weren't for her.

Mr. James Humphreys was my Physics S/T teacher, and was often the supervisor when I did set construction for the theatre department in high school. Learning was fun in Mr. Humphrey's class, and Mr. H was the reason why. A wonderful man inside and outside of the classroom.

Mr. Ted Kimble was my EW/MW History teacher in 10th grade, and my AP European History teacher senior year. In addition to that, he was our class sponsor for all four years. Mr. Kimble is definately part of the reason I'm a history major, he taught me so much. And he was always a friend too. One of a handful of people who I've really looked up to as a role model.

Mr. Scott Laird was my orchestra director during high school, and he really helped inspire my love of music. Mr. Laird was just awesome. A friend, a mentor, a counselor, a teacher, an inspiration. It's hard to put into words how much this man meant to me, so I'll just close by saying it's like windsurfing.

Mrs. Russell was my 8th grade english teacher. She taught us about english, writing, and grammar, but also about life, helping sheperd us through a turbulent time. Simply a truly awesome teacher, and an even more awesome person.

Miss Thomas was my history teacher in 8th grade. I don't think Miss Thomas knew the meaning of the word boring, she certainly taught like she didn't. She nurtured my love of US history, and nurtured all of us through a difficult time. I don't remember what I learned about history in that class, but I know I learned a lot about who I was.

Mrs. Susun Vincent was my AP Literature teacher senior year. Whether we were talking about her husband's job (or lack thereof), movies and the academy awards, or one of the myriad other things we discussed (including occasionally literature), Mrs. Vincent always kept class interesting, and educational. I think I'm still in love with her.
