Here's some news from Sanju Singh ( Mr.S.J.Singh's little boy....all grown up now), working in Singapore.

He writes.....
Its been a lonooog time since you saw me last. I was just a kid then. Well ... I've grown. So, neither am I little nor cute anymore. You probably won't recognise me when you see me. I'm still single and living alone here or rather sharing an appartment with some colleagues. I'm working for a company called NIIT. Its into Software Development/Systems Integration/Computer Based Learning Systems and stuff. I'm in the Learning Systems division. Into Programming and stuff. Mostly multimedia and multimedia for the web. I've been here since Nov last. And will be around for some time ...

My folks are fine and staying in Allahabad settled down in a retired life. Neena's with them. She's teaching in Boys High School and has a son. A small, cute little fella (he's taken over from where I left, I guess :-). 'Bout six years old. the only thing is that I never studied in Ag. But always did consider myself part of the AAI family.

I remember Aunty as such a good host. All the parties she loved to host. All the 'pakwans' and 'achars'. And I remember our family would drop in at your place every other evening, have tea and stuff, chat and if Jerry was around we'd get to listen to some songs on his guitar.

In fact a mention of Verma Uncle - Aunty always brings all those associations to my mind. You know, like Verma Uncle - Aunty ... Oh, evening visits, dinners, good food, 'heeng-wala-achaar' ... Similarly, like Pinkie ... Oh, Pinkie and Jerry ... :-)

Susan Kuravilla nee Verghese and family will be moving to South Carolina as her husband has got another job. Susan is overwhelmed as they have plenty to do. Please remember them in your prayers.

Mary has gone to India for a holiday with her brand new baby !!!

Remember Janice Ulsaker ....way back from the 60's.....her ex-husband Dr. Ramsy was recently diagonsed with brain cancer and has very little time left. Janice is taking care of him. Please pray for them!

Valentine Davidar will be in Hawaii till March 28,1999 regarding Christian Evangelical work

Sonu Watford nee David daughter of Mr. & Mrs. B.A. David writes.......
David is a field Biologist at Rentokil (same company as Sanjay's)and has to travel all over Victoria, but enjoys his work. We have 2 daughters - Sunaina (10) & Alisha (8). Sanjay and Jyotika are expecting their first baby any day now ! My parents are in India and we hope to get them here before the year ends.

Thanks for the information and also for this great effort towards a central AAI station.
After Allahabad, I spent sometime in India before continuing studies at Yale University (New Haven, Conneticut) and the University of California at Berkeley where I picked up a Ph.D. in Hydrology. I'm at Berkeley, CA where I work as a scientist in one of the national labs. Currently, I am working on nuclear waste issues, specifically on the hydrology of suitable storage facilities.

Over the years I've had sporadic contact with various aggies. Perhaps the strangest encounter was with Nazmi Naim who was part of a tour group on the Berkeley Campus. By sheer coincidence I happened by the group and we recognized each other. Also had a visit from Abel Immaraj and his wife Virginia a 2.5 years ago. We all went and met with the Chitambers then. Jude (Chris) and I exchanged e-mails though not much interaction with him since he left for India. Also some contact with Mark Paul.

Do you and Pinkie visit the states much? If possible plan a visit to Berkeley on your next trip and stay with me.
I'm married with perhaps the most gorgeous daughter (Aleksa).
