Life at Virginia Tech!!!

I apologize for the lack of pictures. They are currently being produced.

Life at college is a lot like fishing. There are lots of fish everywhere, and not one of them cares about what bait you're using. It's not really bad actually, it's very exciting. I'm attending the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, a.k.a. Virginia Tech. It's quite the party school let me tell you. I'm a member of the baritone section in the Marching Virginians, which is the university's marching band. For band camp, we arived a week before school started and proceeded to walk around outside in the heat of the day. It's paying off though. Our first performance is September 13th, a home game against Syracuse University. I used to live in Syracuse, so this should be a fun game. To see the football team's schedule for the 1997-1998 season, click here! For these few weeks, the MV's have been my brethren through all the troubles of moving into that 11.5 by 14.5 crack in the wall my roomate and I call a dorm room. To see the MV's at their finest, click here! As far as acedemics goes, I really couldn't complain. Asside from not being able to understand my biology lab instructor, things are going quite well. The guy in charge of the band is Dave Mckee. He is very cool. When practice runs late one night, he'll stop early the next day. If it looks like it's going to thunder and lightning, he'll cancel practice. My old band teacher would say, "now I care about you deeply guy! So when you get struck by lightning, be sure to imediately see the nurse after practice is over." She meant well, and she did well. So far, there is a lot of free time here at college. My classes Monday through Friday start at 9:00, 11:00, 9:00, 8:00, and 9:00 AM. At least I don't have all 8:00 classes. They end at 2:00 and 12:15. They are fun classes. Especially english (like I thought I'd be saying that either). The instructor's name is Charles Lattimer. He is the most animated man I've ever seen that wasn't gay. He is amazing! He talks about finding the "fire" inside of us all. The wonderful thing is that he doesn't just talk, he acts!
