Fitchburg State College 1997

Fitchburg has started their season with some fresh new players and is improving with every game. We are currently 2-5 with losses to Westfield State and division 2 teams Keene State, Wheelock,Umass Lowell and Franklin Pierce College. We lost to dirty playing Umass Lowell with less than 5 minutes left in overtime. the score was 2-1. We lost to F.P. after double overtime, then penalty shots- each team got 5, we were still tied after that so we did it again, 5 and 5, still tied after that so we went into sudden victory and then after about 3 shots, we lost :( We beat Regis College 1-0. Then we beat Western New England College 1-0. In more MASCAC games, we lost to Bridgewater State with less than 2 minutes left in the game. Then we beat Worcester State in overtime, that was a big game. We beat division 2 Simmons College 4-3. During our trip to Maine, we beat Umaine Farmington in penalty shots with a final score of 2-1,and then we lost to Southern Maine in overtime, I think the score was 3-2. Our last game was the dreaded Framingham State College, we seem to lose to them when we play- and we lost 2-0. It was a disappointment, and now the season is over. I will miss field hockey, but I won't miss the "on the corner with a partner" sprints ( which we had to do TOO many times this season ) I wish good luck to everyone!!!!!!!!! The career is over! :(
I will be back with some stats when I get the time. Here is me as the goalie.
