sacstate.com's movies to rent on a ho-hum weekday night

6. The Blues Brothers. "What kind of music do you usually have here?" "Oh, we've got both kinds, country and western!" If you've never seen this movie, you must live in a cave. One to own in our own humble opinion. Don't waste your time on the insipid remake "Blues Brothers 2000", however; that movie is garbage.

5. Strange Brew. "Take off, you hoser!" Rick Moranis and that guy from Grace Under Fire star as Bob & Doug McKenzie, the best thing from Canada since, uh, canadian beer.

4. Pulp Fiction. "Hamburgers! The cornerstone of any nutricious breakfast!" This movie single-handedly resurrected John Travolta's career; you'll either love it or be sitting there confused as hell - but it's worth renting if you've never seen it.

3. There's Something About Mary. This movie is already a classic. If you like gross humor, this is the movie to watch. Just close your eyes in the "Frank and Beans" scene. Some things just don't need visuals. This movie is not for the elderly.

2. Swingers. "You are so money and you don't even know it!" If you haven't seen this movie yet, run to the video store and get it. Now. You will definitely think twice next time you leave a message on someone's answering machine!

1. Animal House. "Why isn't that a coincidence? I have a husband named Dean Wormer!" Whether or not you're greek (although it helps), this is still hands down the greatest college movie of all time. Every college student should own this movie.
