Our Rose Garden: Meet the Sisters

Amy Panetta (Senior): She has held the offices of Vice President of Membership (2002-2003) and Vice President of Ritual (2003-2004). She recently attended SAI's Centennial Convention. Amy is a Music Education major with an Art minor. Her performance medium is piano. Her ensembles include: Marching Band, Symphonic Band, College Choir, and Percussion Ensemble. Her activities at LVC include MENC (Music Educators National Conference), WLVC campus radio show, Campus Girl Scouts, and Students Acting For Global Awareness. Her Big Sister is Amy Van Orden and her little sister is Sara Morrison. She will be graduating in the winter of 2004.

Katherine Bright (Senior): Kate is a Music Education major whose performance mediums are piano, voice, and clarinet. She is involved with the Concert Choir, Marching and Symphonic Band and Wig & Buckle. Her Big Sister is Natalie Dize.

Leigh Ann Lawhorne (Senior): Leigh Ann is a Music Business major whose performance medium is voice. She is involved with College Choir. Her Big Sister is Alisha Miller and her little sister is Jess Liberati.

Shanalyn Sweigart (Senior): Shanalyn is a Music Education major. While her performance medium is voice, she can also play the clarinet and piano. She is involved with Concert Choir and Marching Band. Her Big Sister is Jen Rovito.

Lindsey Strauss (Senior): Lindsey is a Music Education major. While her performance medium is voice, she can also play piano. She is involved with Concert Choir. Her Big Sister is Meg Theime and her little sister is Sarah Degnitz.

Marne Wessner (Senior): Marne is a English Communications major with a Music minor. Her performance mediums are clarinet and violin. She is involved with Marching and Symphonic Band along with Orchestra. She also writes for La Vie, the student-run campus newspaper. Her Big Sister is Krista Gauss and her little sister is Sam Baas.

Rebecca Douglass (Junior): Becca is a Spanish and Religion major with a minor in Music. Her performance mediums are violin and voice. She is involved with the Orchestra and College Choir, Ministry Team, Spanish Club and singing with the Annville United Methodist choir. Her Big Sister is Jennifer-Louise Palermo.

Kate Fahey (Junior): Kate is a sophomore Music Education major. She is a soprano, and is in the College Choir and MENC. Kate is from State College, PA where she lives with her parents. She was the Delta Alpha Treasurer from 03-04, and she is the Editor for 04-05. Outside of music, she participates in Wig and Buckle and Taekwondo. Her Big Sister is Moriah Miller.

Samantha Baas (Sophmore): Samantha Baas, better known as Sam, is a spanish major, and is working towards secondary ed certification, with a possible minor in English at some point in the future. She is 19, lives in Bethlehem, PA, with her parents and sister after many moves in the past, and is loving it at LVC, especially her sisters of SAI. Sam is the corresponding secretary for the 2004-2005 year. For music, she has played the piano since she was 5, and is involved with singing and handbells at her church. Her Big Sister is Marne Wessner.

Sarah Degnitz (Sophmore):Sarah is a Music Ed major with a piano concentration. She lives in Elizabethville, PA with her parents, younger sister, and her pet dog Princess, who is a Schnoodle. She has lived in Elizabethville for 11 years. Before living in PA, Sarah grew up in Germantown, WI and then moved to Neenah, WI before coming to Elizabethville. She has played piano for 11 years, flute for 9 years, trumpet for 4 years, Xylophone for 5 years, and Saxophone for 1 year. Here at LVC, Sarah is involved in The Pride of the Valley marching band, College choir, and Symphonic band. Her Big Sister is Lindsey Strauss.

Jessica Liberati (Sophmore): Jess is a music ed major with a violin concentration. She is 18 and lives in Forest Hill, Maryland. She has lived there her whole life with her parents and older brother. She loves it here at LVC with her SAI sisters and 2nd floor Vickroy people. Jess is the webmaster for SAI for 2004-2005. She has played violin since fourth grade and taken privately since the middle of sixth grade. Her mother is a piano teacher, and Jess has taken lessons from her since first grade. Here at LVC Jess was in the color guard of the LVC marching band fall 2003, and is currently a member of the LVC Symphony Orchestra. She also participates in Praise Him with Dance (a Christian dance group) and Cornerstone (a Friday night Christian fellowship group). Her big sister is Leigh Ann Lawhorne.

Jamie Webber (Senior): Jamie Webber is a junior music education major. She lives in Richland, Pennsylvania, with her parents and younger brother, who also attends Lebanon Valley College. She has played piano for the past nine years, and clarinet for the past eleven years. She is involved in MENC, symphonic band, clarinet choir, college choir, and Praise Him with Dance at Lebanon Valley College. Jamie is the SAI recording secretary for 2004-2005. Her Big Sister is Larissa Fabian.

Sara Morrison (Junior): Sara transferred to Shenandoah University from LVC at the end of her sophmore year. At Shenandoah she is a Music with Elective Studies in Theater major. She's originally from Stafford, VA whiere she resides with her parents, grandmother, and little sister. Sara's mainly a singer, but enjoys learning and playing percussive instruments. She wasn't in many ensembles at LVC, but she sand with the Concert Choir for 2 years while acting or helping many of the theatrical productions. Sara's Big Sister is Amy Panetta.

Valerie Malukas (Senior): Val transfered to Mansfield University to persue Music Therapy. At LVC she was a Psychology major with a Music minor. Her performance medium is flute. She was involved with Symphonic Band. Her Big Sister is Tara Drumheller.
