A (sort of) New HyperCard Page.

HyperCard is a well established programming language for the Mac OS which has existed almost as long as the Macintosh itself. HyperCard's power lies not in pixel-pushing or rendering, rather in simplicity, like all things truly Macintosh.

Many teachers and educators use HyperCard as an introduction to programming because of the "plain English" language that it uses called HyperTalk. In fact, beginners can create stacks (programs) without even looking at a HyperTalk script. Some hard core programmers are mislead by the fuzzy, cuddly appearance of HyperTalk. Underneath the easy to use Graphical User Interface (GUI) lies a very flexible and surprisingly powerful language.

This page is dedicated to the continued success of HyperCard. The folks at Apple have neglected HyperCard for the past few years, and it's future is in question.

If you are interested in learning more about HyperCard, you can visit this site. Feel free to download some of the stacks which I created, they are all Freeware and you have no obligation to pay for them. Any questions or comments can be sent to me here, I'll do my best to reply.

Viewing Tip: Don't close the GeoCities banner window, move it to the background instead.

Well It's official: This site has slid into obscurity. I no longer update it on a regular basis, and all the pages need updating - badly. It's not like I have dumped Hypercard, I have just become busy. Hmmm, maybe I just need to re-prioritize. While this site sits on the back burner, please have a look at some of the other great sites listed on my links page.

If you have any HyperCard questions that need answering, I may be able to assist. Just send me an e-mail at Jacobbeaton@home.com and I'll try my best (also include code if possible).
