  Memories

The most predictable thing about the brain is that it cannot be trusted to remember everything.  Memories are like the leaves on a tree changing through the seasons.  They can be easily manipulated, corrupted and influenced through time, place, senses, biasness and emotions.  More importantly, it is our memories that make us; they dictate our characters and personalities, make our choices and decide our destinies.  What we remember of our past moulds us into what we are and what we will become.  There is no future without the past.  We inherit the consequences of our ancestors' experiences.  Our memories affect the lives of those around us.  That is why we must preserve the truth and accuracy of our past and heritage.  It is on these premisses that I commit my memories here, lest I forget.
