Lyrics

I like to write songs. As some of you know, I used to write sad songs. Then at some random point in February 1995, I started to actually enjoy things more. This resulted in a barrage of sappy but heartfelt love songs. Here are some various lyrics... maybe you will know what I mean.

In the future, I am going to post two of my newer, rockier songs, Fan Letter (about travel and rheostatics) and the Mystery of Canoe Lake (about Tom Thompson, one of Canada's greatest artists).

Hockey Song This is a fun song, which I enjoy playing. I think that I wrote it one night after watching les Canadiens crush the Rangers 7 - 1... I realized that Wayne Gretzky might not be a hockey player much longer.

Go I like this song. Somewhere I have a kick ass version of this with my brother Greg singing... if I can find it maybe I will post it

You and Me This song is actually a sequal to a song I wrote called Campfire Songs. That one was about some of the ridiculous things that we have done over time... Mike T. and Erik, we probably didn't have to put the entire deck on the fire at once... Anyhow, this song is about P.E.I. (with Amy, Craig, Erik, Mike T., Andronius, Kirk, and Alex) over three years, it is about New York (with Amy, Jill, and Mike T.), it is about Boston (with Amy and Chrissy), it is about Fundy Park (with Amy, Mike, and Tam Zam), it is about Rockwood Park (with pretty much everyone), and it is about Stanley Park... a place that I liked, Amy liked, and it is ok if we never go back... damn geese...

Deeper then comfort Getting deeper into my sappy stage, I wrote this song on a sunny day in hell, where I lived for a couple of years.

Smile I don't know much about this song, except that I wrote it... I was walking home, and I started to get a tune in my head. When I got home, I picked up Amy's guitar, and this is the result.
