OUR ACTIVITIES

DEVOTIONALS

Every Thursday night at 8:00 PM, during the school year, we meet at the SCSC for a period of singing, praying, and Bible study. This provides an opportunity for us to become closer to each other and closer to our God. This period lasts for about one hour, and is followed by snacks, pool, ping-pong, and great conversation. Everyone is welcome to attend. Transportation to and from can be arranged if needed.

ADOPTIVE PARENTS

Every year, each student is paired with a Christian Family from Kensington Woods Church of Christ, and they become your "parents" while you are away from home. Your new parents will try to assist you however they can during the year. This could include home cooked meals, maybe a movie, and whatever else they can think up. There are some great parents at Kensington Woods!

ADOPT-A-GRANDPARENT

This is a new project at the SCSC that is very similar to the Adoptive Parent program. The main difference is that the student tries to find ways to spend time with their Grandparent and assist them in any way they can. This can include listening to old war stories, looking at photo albums, helping with household chores, or just listening to the wisdom of years. This program has had wonderful results. The students love it, and the Grandparents do to.

DOUGHNUT TUESDAYS!

Every Tuesday morning during the semester, we meet at the SCSC between 7-8 AM to munch on some doughnuts, drink some coffee or orange juice, and enjoy each others company. This is a great way to start the day!

STUDENT SUPPERS

On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, a group of ladies from Kensington Woods Church of Christ prepare a home cooked meal for all the students. Dinner is served at the SCSC, after the 6:00 PM services at Kensington Woods. This is some really, really GREAT food!

WEEKEND RETREATS

Twice per semester, we will plan a weekend get-a-way to some remote, beautiful, tropical destination! Actually, we will probably be at a state park or something, but who knows? Last semester, we went to Atlanta and watched two Braves games! We always have a good time!
