My Assignment
I teach "Informatique de base" (Basic Computer Science) and work in the library at Université Adventiste-Cosendai in Nanga-Eboko, Cameroon. Both assignments are quite demanding and rewarding at the same time. My class, taught entirely in French, focuses on Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access. The goal is essentially to familiarize students with these tools and how they can be used effectively in the workplace or as a student.
The library is getting a facelift and I'm excited to be a part of it. My task involves modernizing how the library functions by improving access and expanding the collection. My goal is to have a fully functional electronic catalog and Library Intranet site. Likewise, I'm hoping to develop more of a reading culture by promoting the library's services and helping students develop effective research strategies.
