            Entrance in this institute is limited to students having domicile status of Uttar Pradesh. Seats in 4-years B-Tech. programme are filled once each year through an entrance examination conducted in all major cities of U.P. along with Delhi and Patna. There is also a provision for direct intake of NRI or NRI-sponsored students based on their performance in the qualifying examination and an interview. These students do not have to undertake the entrance test.

Reservation of Seats

              The seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other backward class students as per the UP Government rules.

  1. 7.5% of the total no. of seats are reserved for ST students.
  2. 15 % of the total seats are reserved for ST students.
  3. 27 % of the total seats are reserved for students of other backward classes.
  4. There is also provision for reservation of seats for physically handicapped candidates, dependants of freedom fighters and sons/daughters of defence personnel either superannuated or killed/disabled in action.

             45% of the total seats are reserved for students under the self-financing(paid seats) option and another 5% are reserved for students under the NRI-sponsored option. These figures should not be counted as separate from the above mentioned figures ie. the paid seats are also subject to reservation.

Entrance test pattern

             The syllabus for the entrance test consists of topics covered by the candidate in his senior secondary stage. These can be downloaded in MS-WORD format by clicking here. The entrance test consists of three papers of 1.5 hours duration each and contains objective type questions only.

Result of Entrance Test

               The result of the entrance test is declared roughly one week after the test by the university in selected newspapers and on the university notice boards. The selected candidates are called for counselling in the order of their respective merits in the tests through registered letters.
