Counseling 2000
As the successful candidates are well aware, the counseling for the
session 2000-01 is scheduled for the 14th and the 15th
of this month. With only a few days left for the event and a spate of
entrance tests to be given, it is but natural for a student and
his/her parents to be confused in as to what is suitable for them. I
will try to provide some guidelines below to help you select the best
education .

Last year, Computer Science and Engineering filled up first on the
basis of merit.
Our CSE department is renowned for some special achievements. Notable
being the direct selection of a B.Tech student in the Ph.D. program at
IIT Kanpur.

Even though, there are university managed Engg. institutes all
over UP, ours has carved out a niche for itself in terms of
productivity, intellect, motivation, and above all RESULTS.
The highest salary secured by a student in the ECE department is about
Rs. 250,000 /- at Lucent Laboratories, USA.

The best bet for professional advancement in our institute is its
close proximity to IIT Kanpur. We get to know more about new
technology than our other counterparts.
IET Kanpur was recently chosen as the nodal test center for IIT
Kanpur's " Remote Tutor " project. Our students will now be
able to interact real-time with the IIT professors through a leased
line.

We have an exclusive " Career Club" in the institute run
by distinguished stalwarts to facilitate suitable summer projects
and jobs for the students.
Whereas no other university managed institute has managed to demonstrate
any industry placements, nearly all the top brass in each department
of our institute has secured good jobs in campus placements alone, and
that is exemplary considering that it was the very first pass-out
batch of the institute.
