A quick Blunt reView of week 2.

WE WERE MINCE !

We now return you to your regular season.

Oh I suppose you actually want a real review ? Well tough, we wanted a real team last week - we don't get what we deserve.

However we now highlight our new review feature....

Boneheaded Coaching Call of the Week

Last week we had two entries - See our review of week 1. This week only one stood out as totally beyond comprehension. While it seemed every call this week and every player was wrong - we noticed this stupid decision....

It's the last play of the 1st Half. The Clays are down 14-3. So we're driving to try and get a score by throwing big plays with seconds left on the clock. Jim Ballard manages to throw a 1st down pass to the sidelines putting us around the 40-yard line. But the clock has run out. End of the half ?

Well no it isn't. There's a 15-yard defensive penalty for un-sportsman like conduct or something. So as every good fan knows - you can't end a half or a game on a defensive penalty... although I seem to recall a certain game at Murrayfield where the refs forgot that and we lost the game...

So all we have to do is accept the penalty, which adds 15 yards after the catch - putting it at the 25-yard line. And we get one play with time expired. One shot at the endzone where we don't have to worry about an INT (assuming they can't run it back for a TD) or a simple Field-Goal of about 35 yards.

It's almost a free play. It's low risk and could bring us 8 points (assuming we get the 2pt conversion) bringing us right back into the game.

All we have to do is accept the penalty ! It's perfect it's simple.

We decline and go in 14-3 down at half-time.

Bonehead call.

Bonehead game.
