The

Song Book

Well it had to happen. People demanded it, well they didn't but they "ASKED for it" as our Editor Doug Adamson said.

This all started with a bright idea of our other Editor Alan Gibson. So you can blame him for setting Doug and a few others off. Anyway here they are in order of appearance ...

BLUNT VIEWS MUSIC PRESENTS
Wannabe A Claymore
As Sung by the Scottish Claymores Cheerleaders live at Murrayfield, in costume as seen here with the BV team .
BONUS - Also available as a REAL AUDIO FILE .
This song was the VERY first Blunt Views Song written in 1997 by Alan Gibson (with some tinkering around by Doug Adamson and Bob).

Hey Hey It's the Monarchs
As "sung" by Doug Adamson live on the backfields at Murrayfield. If you want to, read the embarrassing story.
This song was written in 1997 by Doug Adamson (after being inspired by Alan's excellent Wannabe A Claymore).

That Losing Feeling (actually That winning feeling)
As "sung" by Doug Adamson and a bunch of other people in Hooters in Birmingham in week 4 of 1998. Then actually put to words by Doug Adamson (instead of just a chorus).

Letter From Berlin
We could only be bothered to re-write a small part of the excellent "Letter from America" from the Proclaimers. To be honest the idea came from someone on the mailing list. As "sung" by Doug Adamson and everyone else down the Cambridge after week 7 of 1998.

The Dom - Jac Song...
On the way back from the disastrous result at Hampden (week 8 of 1998) the bus tried to sing some of the songs from above.... Only to give an idea to Jackie MacPherson who wrote this ditty with assistance of Dom Melaragni.

Simply Depressed
Steve Dalgleish uttered these fateful words "You know we could sing a song to Simply the Best only make it Simply Depressed. We could even sing it with paper bags over our heads on stage for the final homegame. ONLY if we have a losing season". Well Steve we have a losing season. You know now never to give Doug Adamson ideas... taking the one line of "Simply Depressed" Doug managed to produce this, possibly the best of his "re-workings". Now available to read for the VERY first time.

So that's it for the Blunt Views Song book for now. As the season draws to an end there are rumours of writing a totally original song for the Claymores for 1999. Not a re working but a brand new song... if you have musical talent send an e-mail to Doug and you could find yourself on the BV song book.
