Todd West is the head coach of men's soccer at American University (AU). Before becoming a member of the athletic staff at AU, he had a stellar career as a standout high school soccer coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia.

Todd served as the head boy's soccer coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School from 1993 to 1996, leading the 1995 team to the Virginia State Championship and a No. 12 NSCAA final national ranking. For his efforts, he was named 1995 NSCAA Virginia State Coach of the Year.

In addition to coaching the Phoenix, Todd continues to be a mainstay in the Virginia Olympic Development Program. He has coached at four different levels since 1992, directing the under-16, under-17, and under-12 teams in the Northern District, and is currently head coach of the Virginia State under-16 team which recently won the regionals. In addition, he served as Training Site Coordinator of the Mexican National Team during World Cup 1994.

In the recent past, Todd's under-19 team, the Braddock Road Blue Jays Premier, captured the Virginia State Championship. In addition, they won the 1996 USA Cup in Blaine, Minnesota, consisting of an international pool of 85 teams.

Todd is a 1988 graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where he frequently competed against AU in the Colonial Athletic Association. A four-year starter with a BS in physical education/business, Todd led the Patriots to three NCAA tournament appearances, two CAA championships, and three NCAA national rankings.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Todd is married to Samira West and currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia.
