Dan Marino will not be a Vike,
instead he will call it a career. Now
the Vikes are suddenly talking about a possible return of Jeff George. If
I was him, I would tell the Vikings to take a hike. They showed him no
class in the way they refused to even try to work something out. They
could have atleast gave him an offer, no matter how low the salary is.
They acted like he had the plague. If he insisted on a long term deal as
rumored, than let him take himself out of the picture by declining the
offer, then he could feel that he was wanted but not affordable. Green
just can't admit that Jeff saved his can. In other news, the Vikes signed
Fernando Smith, who claims that he has rededicated himself to the game.
Quote of note: Green also spoke highly of
third-string quarterback Todd
Bouman. " We have a lot of confidence in him. Not many
people have heard of Todd, like many people had not
heard of [Rams' quarterback] Kurt Warner."
