Sam Brown C 6-3 250 James Monroe High School, Monroe County WV -- Big reason why James Monroe did so good this past season.2/22/99

Ronnie Carter LB 6-2 Pittsburgh, Pa - Great LB from the same school as Major Harris, Rasheed Marshall, Milton Redwine, Mike Booth and Solomon Page.2/22/99

David Castillo, 6-3 290 5.20, Palm Beach Gardens -- knows the game real well, and has the ability to play all five offensive line positions. As a junior, he was named first team All-Conference, first team All-Area, and first team All-District. David had 54 pancake blocks, and was the offensive lineman of the week twice. Top five is Miami, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, and West Virginia.4/11/99

Tyrone Gilliard RB/DB 6-0 170 4.45 Princeton, WV - Tyrone started as a Soph. and rushed for over 1,000. He scored 6 Tds in one game against county rival Pike View only playing 3 quarters. Made first team AAA all state as a Jr. rushed for 1,497 and 18 TDs He had the third fastest 100 meter time as a Soph. and the fastest in Princetons history with a 10.4. He has two cousins playing Pro Football one for the New Orleans Saints and the other for New England but they sent him to NFL Europe. He has received letters from OSU, NEB, Kentucky, WVU, Va. Tech, Tenn, Marshall, and many more. Earned second team AAA RB as a soph. He said he will camp at Ohio State this summer but do to OSU camp being a team camp he will now go to WVUs summer camp for individuals. Ty will be at WVUs spring game. He does not have any hands to play WR but will be a DB in college. On March 10, 1999 Tom Lemming came to the High School and took a picture of Ty and received his stats. 2/22/99

Joel Gray DB 5-11 180 4.38 RedBank Reg. N.J. Joel had 89 tackles last year with 3 ints and five fumble recovers. Great QB as well with speed and arm stregnth. Has heard from PSU, Syracuse, Kentucky, Illonois, North Carolina, Nebraska, Iowa, Rutgers, Nebraska, Indiana, Ole Miss, Maryland, Northwestern, Duke, Minn, Miami in addition to West VA.5/14/99

Willie Green RB, Kissimmee Osceola - One of the top Jr. RBs in Florida. Same High School as '97 recruit Willie Mckinnon. Ast. coach is a WVU fan. Many schools are recruiting Wille.2/22/99

John Hollins WR 6'2 185 4.53 Huber Heights Wayne Ohio caught 45 passes last season and scored 11 touchdowns. He has good size and strength for a wideout. OHIO STATE, TENNESSEE, MICHIGAN, PURDUE, NOTRE DAME, WEST VIRGINIA, and MICHIGAN STATE are the schools he likes.5/26/99

(Verbal) Jared Hostetler QB 6-3 Hershey, Pa - Nephew of All-Pro QB Jeff Hostetler currently with the Redskins. Probably the second best Jr. QB in Pa. behind Jeff Smoker. Hostetler has surpassed 1,000 passing yards in each of his two years as a starter. 2/22/99

Isaac Irbe WR 5-9 180 4.4 Delran-Holy Cross, NJ- Deep threat at WR and great KR. School has a long history of producing Mountaineers.3/8/99

William Isabelle NG/OL 6-3 340 5.4 Princeton, WV - Younger brother of current UVA LB Yubrenal Isabelle. William is a monster lineman that dominates the line of scrimage. He will feel out to about 6-4 and if he trims down a bit he could be a top 250 recruit. At Nose William plugs up the holes. This past season he had 6 sacks. Moved to Princeton from Bluefield and started in the 10th grade. UVA wants him to walk on. Paul Jefferson LB/FB 6-1 235 4.6 Myers High School Wilkes Barre (PA) With a 3.97 GPA and a 1030 on his SAT, Jefferson is already fully qualified. Bench press up to 365 pounds and climbing. Paul had 120 tackles this passed season. Penn State, Boston College, West Virginia, Syracuse, Kentucky, and North Carolina State.3/14/99

Adam Lehnortt(Verbal) 6-3 218 LB/TE Oil City Pa.-sensation from Oil City (I would guess Ga). Verballed over Pitt., Ohio State, Penn State and Virginia. Said that he has been to campus unofficially and loved our campus and made the decision early so he can concentrate or making 1st team all-state.3/26/99

Russel Lippencott OL 6-3 275 Princeton, WV- Could it be true Princeton having 4 D-1 prospects? Russel is huge with hardly any fat on his body. He likes WVU and other area schools. Probably will camp at WVU. Will be at Spring game. On March 10, 1999 Tom Lemming came to the High School and took a picture of Russ and received his stats. So I added Russ to this based on what Tom Lemming thinks. 3/11/99

Cam Marsh QB 6-3 195 4.7 Hillsboro, OH - FL, ILL, MIST, ND, OSU, PSU, WV - threw for 1,502 yards and 22 touchdowns and ran for 7 touchdowns as a junior.2/22/99

Chris McGrady 6-6 260 Shady Spring High School Shady Spring, WV - Pitt has already offered McGrady, who is projected as a defensive end. But academics figure to play a big part in his recruitment. WVU hasn't offered yet.4/20/99

Isaac Montgomery OL/DL 6-5 245 4.75 to 5.1 range. Princeton, WV - Isaac is huge at 6-5 245 pounds and he is only 16. Isaac is receiving attention from Tech, WVU, Marshall, UNC, UGA, and Wake. Isaac received 3 letters in a week one from UNC, one from FSU, and the last from UVA. He plays both ways and takes over. He could fill out to about 6-6 270 pounds and run the forty in the 4.8 5.0 flat range. Princeton scrimaged Capital and Issac knocked out FB Darrion Scott on the second play of the game. Scott never made it back on the field that day. Will be at WVUs spring game. Made AAA honorable mention as a Jr.On March 10, 1999 Tom Lemming came to the High School and took a picture of Isaac and received his stats. 2/22/99

Johnny Mullins (Glades Central, Belle Glade FL) 6-0, 185, WR Coaches who watched Johnny perform at Nike's Football Training Camp in Miami called him "a super talent." Mullins drew raves, recording a 37-inch vertical, 4.10 shuttle and was clocked at 4.43 in the 40. He also was sure-handed and made many spectacular catches. Same school as Dwight Jackson and Jujuan Sieder.2/22/99

Tony Paradiso, LB, 6-0, 215, Kissimmee Osceola-3/29/99

DB Rory Peavy, 6-3 185 4.39, Port St Lucie Interested in are West Virginia, Kentucky, Miami, and Syracuse. Peavy projects as a free safety at the next level. He plays with exceptional range. He possesses hard-hitting ability, and plays an in-your-face style of defense. He plays with a huge upside, and works hard. A tremendous athlete, Peavy may also see time at wide receiver this season. He enters the season as one of the state's top defensive back prospects.4/27/99

Nathan Poole 6'1 170 4.7 Grove City, Ohio Poole, who completed 55% of his passes for 1830 yards last season, has a 3.9 GPA. Like OSU then Purdue and a least that consists of STANFORD, KENTUCKY, and WEST VIRGINIA.5/26/99

Kenny Ramsey RB 5-11 190 Man, WV -- The 5-11, 190-pound running back started catching recruiters' eyes when he was just a sophomore. He is an impressive mix of speed, quickness and talent.2/22/99

Nick Regan (6'1 225 4.6) Springfield High Ryan, PA is not as tall as the prototype linebacker prospect. Started every game on the varsity since his freshman season. As a junior Nick made 131 tackles and picked off four passes. PENN STATE, NOTRE DAME, and NORTHWESTERN are his three favorite schools though Nick is also interested in OHIO STATE, WEST VIRGINIA, PITT, and IOWA.May 5th.5/7/99

Darion Scott 6-3 220 4.6 Capital High Charleston, WV - Made first team AAA as a Jr. Great size and speed hopefully he will be a mounty. Kentucky is coming on hard and Georgia.2/22/99

Michael Terrell 5-11 165 Riverside Consolidated Kanawha County, WV -- He also has great quickness, which could turn him into a Division I cornerback or wideout.2/22/99

James Terry Ath/QB 6-4 175 South Dade, Homestead, Florida - James is the younger brother of current Mountaineer members Nate and Shawn Terry. His coach Don Drinkhahn said "Potentially, he probably could be better" athletically than Nate and Shawn. James passed for about 1,000 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. Will he follow Nate, Shawn, and Osa Nosa to WVU?2/22/99

Ben Thornton 6-0 200 James Monroe High School Monroe County WV -- Class AA all-state selection at safety.2/22/99

Mike Vernillo RB (5'10 195 4.4) from McDonald Fort Cherry, PA has been a varsity starter since his freshman season and ran for 1600 yards that year. As a sophomore he gained 2600, then this past season rushed for another 1500. As a junior Mike averaged close to nine yards per carry and scored 25 touchdowns. WEST VIRGINIA, who has offered a scholarship, as his favorite, but is also interested in PENN STATE, OHIO STATE, MARYLAND, and BOSTON COLLEGE.5/7/99
