About Tolland Boys' Cross Country
Tolland Boys' Cross Country has a long standing tradition of excellence. Led by Coach Peter Leeds, the team has ranked #1 in the North Central Connecticut Conference for nine consecutive seasons, and has placed high in state competitions several times. Tolland boys were state champions in 1989, 1991, and 1992, and they competed in the New England Championships in 1992.
In addition to success in competition, the team also has a great deal of team spirit. On nights before meets members attend team pasta parties and load up on energy for the next day's competition. Members also participate in frequent team frisbee competitions.
All members of Tolland Boys' Cross Country enjoy their running experiences at Tolland. Many of Tolland Boys' Cross Country graduates continue running after they graduate. For more information on Tolland Cross Country graduates, see the Tolland Cross Country Alumni Page.
About the 1997 Season
Although Tolland Boys' Cross Country lost a key runner to last year's graduating class, the team had tremendous success in the 1997 season. Led by junior Bobby May and seniors John Lambert and John Layman, the team finished the season with a 20-2 record, losing only to rivals Stafford and E.O. Smith. Also performing well during the season were junior Andrew McConville, senior Travis Young, sophomore Jason Arnet and freshman Dave O'Connell. The team won the NCCC Championship, and placed 3rd in State Class M Championships.

Invitationals
The Tolland Boys' Cross Country team participates in two or three invitationals per season. They compete in the Windham Invitational at Windham High School in mid-September and sometimes compete in the Wickham and Hartford Public Invitationals. The past two seasons, they travelled to Vermont to compete in the Thetford Invitational.
