"Hell Day"

As a college student, I can honestly say that "hell days" come by often, but one in particular was truly hellish. During the spring of 1998, I was part of a four-person group which was assigned to describe to the rest of our philosophy class how the golden section is incorporated into different musical instruments. Needless to say, our group procrastinated so much that we nearly did not pull off what we did. The main problem was that our understanding of the assignment left something to be desired. Also, the week during which we planned to do our research, our school's Internet system was malfunctioning because of repairs. These circumstances, coupled with my own procrastination, led to much stress as the dreaded 6:30 p.m. period was about to commence. (As a matter of fact, I wrote my speech twenty minutes before class began!) Incredibly enough, we all delivered half-way decent speeches and earned good grades.

If nothing more, this story goes to show that college can be a source of great worriedness. I faced the challenge posed by the philosophy gods, succeeded, and now have my head held high (sort of). That is why I deem this website, "The Bernardo Wardo Golden Section."
