1985 unknown heat: Newcastle Stealers Newcastle Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic

This team was led by the Rankin twins who participated in IAK as if it was the Olympics. Hey guys! It aint Sydney 2000! Vince Duffy also made memorable cameo appearances in events such as "Ring the Bell". David Rankin's sportsmanlike behaviour was exemplary throughout, especially at the end of the "Telephone Call" event, where upon finishing third, proceeded to chuck his phone in rage. Don't worry, Dave, it's not the end of the world.

Captain: David Rankin
Vice-Captain: Philip Rankin
Other team members: Vince "Vin Stuffy" Duffy (doctor), Therese Brown, Virginia Rowe, Donna Richardson Orange Orange was probably one of the most unlucky teams in the IAK series. Constantly being placed in heats against the Nareen Juggernaut (e.g. Chariot Race) proved to be a major hurdle. Shocking luck in other events such as Sheep Dipping, where Michael Cornish fell down (MPEG download coming soon), forced Orange to play second fiddle to Nareen (Vic.). Tip: Don't use your joker against Nareen in a heat.

Captain: Pamela Stanford/Michael Cornish (sub)
Vice-Captain: Chris Fuller
Other team members: Lesina Tasi Temora Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic

Temora was the first IAK team to be led by a woman. This team was involoved in the infamous "Noah's Knockout" incident, in which Portland's Derek van Veldhuisen was tragically put out of action for the remainder of the season.

Captain: Lorraine Reid (Book Keeper)
Vice-Captain: Richard Towers (the Stud Groom)
Other team members: Malcolm Yerbury, Graham Manglesdorf, Colette Manglesdorf, Tanya Maslen Cronulla

The second Cronulla team competed in the 1987 season and made it to the Semi-Finals

Captain: Darrell Tarrant

Other team members: Hawkesbury Hawkesbury (Michael Jordan) always dominated in big pool events, such as "Spin Out" and "Ski Slalom", in which he proceeded in soundly beating Alan Grant (Wodonga, Vic) in the heat after Grant fell in the water twice. In the final Jordan thrashed Jim Walsh, Captain of Maroochydore, to bring up a joker win. Jordan also taught Sam Daniels, Captain of Box Hill, a "Spin Out" lesson. After all of this we would like to plug his band, for which he is the drummer -- "Thunderbox".

Captain: Michael Jordan (tae-kwon-do black belt and kickboxing expert, not to be confused with the lesser-known basketballer)
Vice-Captain: Stephen Head
Other team members: Donna Hillsley, Alan Mills, Gail Bronson Sutherland Captain: Robert Jennings
Vice-Captain: Malcolm Nelson
Other team members: Julia Hurley, Erin Comino, Michael Rowlands (23 y.o. P.E. teacher), Mark Freeman

Other team members: Leanne Stacey, Leslie Gray Avalon Pic Pic Pic Pic Pic

A juggernaut, according to IAK fan Stephen Ellison; averaged 20 points per meet over their four ordinary meets.

Captain: Craig Goozee
Vice-Captain:
Other team members: Donna Sedgemen (pharmacist and a damn fast runner. We here at The IAK Web have a soft spot for pharmacists), Carolyn Park Umina

Captain: Michael Lamb
Vice-Captain: Ross Cameron
Other team members: Anne Banks Sydney City A focussed group of P.E. students from Sydney Uni, this team loved themselves (although not to the legendary extent of Newcastle). Team captain 'Bindy' was heard to say of her team "[they are] generally wonderful people". Quite a skilful and earnest team... reminds me of my three days at Sydney Uni.

Captain: Belinda 'Bindy' Sheil
Vice-Captain: Chris Day
Other team members: Kevin Martin, Wendy van Kesteren Canowindra Pic
