He was the No.1 player in the Victorian 'B' team that played against 7 other Australian State teams and * New Zealand teams. In the teams event the Vic. 'A' team finished second whilst the Vic 'B' team was seventh. Well done & congratulations to all.    Paul Staight is an Australian Team member.

Paul is now training for the 2000 Olympics to be held in Sydney.

Andrew Elsbury, our newest committee member, has put plans afoot to attempt to have the badminton area of the stadium renamed to The Roy Patterson Hall.
The renaming of the hall is to honour the persistent  efforts of Roy Patterson in having it built in the first place, and also, for his dedication to Werribbee Junior & Senior badminton over nearly 50 years.
Andrew has solicited the assistance of other user groups and so far the replies have been positive.
Andrew was successful in negotiating a Memorial Plaque to Roy & Ruby as renaming the hall was not considered an option by the Wyndham Council.
