News and Rumors for today
Norton was injured in the weights room on the weekend while
squatting with 310 pounds, no word on how long he'll be out for
and how serious it is.
Flair, Hart, Benoit and Malenko are currently planned to be in the
Horsemen along with Arn Anderson.
Rob Kellem will soon be debuting in WCW as Gourgeous George
III.
Brian Clarke will still be known as Wrath, but he will have a new
look, new attitude, and a new overall image.
Rey Mysterio will be out for three weeks.
Mongo is in trouble... more training at the Power Plant will be
required.
OKAY NOW THIS IS INTERESTING WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK IS TRUE???
.
Sting signed a contract entension recently and there are plans to
have him at every Thunder.
Sting has appearantly resigned with WcW for a very good salary
and early reports say 7 figure. It is also being said that he has asked
not to work on Thursday's which would be Thunder, no word why
but my guess is, is that he feels he does not need to be there since
nothing ever happens at Thunder.
-Raven & Saturn are both on the injured list.
-Booker T won't be a loner for long! Look for him to don the black & red of
the Wolfpack maybe even before Fall Brawl!
-From what I'm hearing look for Bret Hart's last appearance with the nWo
Hollywood to be at War Games! Will Bret turn his back on Hollywood on this
PPV? Sounds good to me! Then he will Beat Hogan for the belt when he gets it
What everyone wants to know is if the man from parts unknown is
expected to be in WCW for the long haul, or was this just a quickie
for the fed where the big boys play?
Looks like the latter.
Depending on who you speak to in WCW Warrior inked a one
million dollar deal that calls for him to make 17 appearances or a
six month calendar, or simply the 17 appearances over six
months. Note, I said appearances not matches, so there's 16 to
go. One thing is for certain, and that is that it's a certainty now that
Warrior will lock horns with Hollywood Hogan at HALLOWEEN
HAVOC...which also means that someone else will be walking out
of WAR GAMES the winner!
Yes, Hogan is scheduled to be nWo b&w team captain for the
three team encounter. No, I didn't mention his name yesterday as
part of the team. I expect him to weasel out somehow, give his
spot to Hennig, and cause the Warrior to miss the opportunity to
face Goldberg for the title in October. So who gets the shot?
A Lex Luger vs. Bret Hart United States TItle match is scheduled for tonight's
WCW Thunder, live from Fargo, North Dakota. Most expect that Hart will re-gain
the U.S. Title.
A few days ago, WCW former Television Champion Dave "Fit" Finlay was rushed to
a hospital in Germany.
Finlay was in Germany, renewing his wife's visa (Finlay's wife is German).
According to his wife, Finaly complained of chronic, and severe headpains.
When they became unbearable, Finlay's wife called for an ambulance, and he was
rushed to a local hospital.
There, Finlay was examined, and transfered to a special hospital dealing in
head trauma. Let's just hope it's nothing too serious.
Lex Luger got the US Title on WCW Monday Nitro. Lex Luger and WCW came to
terms to a new contract deal this past week. Lex Luger came into WCW about 3
years ago in 1995. Since then he has held the World Title, Tag Title, and now
US Title. He is all happy in WCW. With this new contract, he will get a push
and will work more dates, but more money with the contract also. Luger was
many of the wrestlers in the upcoming months that their contract would come to
an end. In this effort, WCW has been hard at work getting these men locked up
in long term contracts.
Scott Hall of World Championship Wrestling once again got himself in major
trouble.
In a hotel parking lot, an annibriated Hall thought he'd play a cute practical
joke on some of WCW's luchadores. Hall staggered out of the Hotel bar, and
proceeded to smash, and break the doors and windows of the luchador's rented
car.
When they heard about it, the luchador's confronted Hall, and demanded him to
pay for the the thousands of dollars damage.
No word on the current situation. If Hall has payed, or if there might be
legal actions taken.
Also, it seems as if ALL of WCW has had it with Scott Hall, and his actions.
Apparently Kevin Nash is also upset at Hall...which doesn't happen too often.
Got word that Bret Hart was a little ticked that he was asked to go to
Sturgis and then wasn't used. Apparently, he had the day off already scheduled
but then they asked him to come for an angle. When they did not use him, he
was said to have wondered why he was asked to come.
The
Nature Boy's return if all goes well in the court. September 14,
NITRO happens to be in South Carolina.
Okay this is a very big rumor!! Not to say it couldn't happen though!!
I've heard that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash will
reform the outsiders,go to WWF and join D-GenerationX. However,Before
this happens Hall Is going to Kick Hogan's butt and cost him the World
Championship from Ultimate Warrior. The warrior will be in the wolfpac long
enough to beat Goldberg and end the Hollywood Camp, and then he will
mysteriously disappear but leave JJ Dillon the belt, and then in January 1999,
he will go to WWF for a short period of time, before he retires.
Given full control over their feud, it appears Scott Hall and Kevin
Nash won't be rushing things. Despite what management might
want the earliest the two will lock up in a one on one encounter
looks to be HALLOWEEN HAVOC in October. A teaser match on
NITRO is never out of the question, though.
Goldberg vs. Giant...it'll happen again at THUNDER in another
dark match.
Mark Madden reports that Bret Hart is quite upset with his father, Stu,
for allowing the WWF to film its Fully Loaded Dungeon Match in Bret's very own
childhood home. Obviously, Bret still harbors tremendous animosity towards the
WWF because of the Double-Cross incident in November. According to Madden,
Stu's rationale was that he was helping out Owen's standing in Titan by
renting out his home.
Kevin Nash vs. Scott Hall is officially off of the Road Wild card. In its
place, Nash, Konnan, Sting, and Luger will face Giant, Norton, Hennig, and
Hall. The match will serve to help build anticipation for the first Hall-Nash
match at Halloween Havoc. Also, the originally-scheduled Chris Jericho-
Juventud Guerrera match has been dropped from the August PPV card, perhaps out
of concern for how the biker crowd, which loudly booed a Chris Benoit-Dean
Malenko classic at Hog Wild in 1996, would react to such a match. In its
place, Stevie Ray will face Chavo Guerrero, accompanied by Pepe.
Contrary to widespread reports, Dave Meltzer reports that WCW will not be
holding a PPV in Australia in 1999. According to Meltzer, the company has no
plans to expand on its horizons for the time being, as business in the U.S. is
so good that foreign tours are not feasible at this point. The company may
tour Canada within the next several months, but previous plans for a Bret
Hart-led Canadian invasion have been put on the backburner.
Pro Wrestling Torch carried the following excerpt of Ric Flair's recent
interview with Bruce Mitchell: "My feelings are this ... Arn Anderson deserves
an opportunity to be on TV. I'm glad to see that. Malenko and Benoit deserve
an opportunity to be in that light and I have a lot of strong personal
feelings for Steve McMichael. I know he's getting a lot of flack because of
his workrate, but he's a great guy. If he focuses and decides he wants to be a
great performer, he will be. He brings a lot of personality and charm, what
the Horsemen were all about. If he wants to pick it up he will. That's a
strong cast of characters, those three, with Arn being able to talk. I don't
know the fourth guy they're looking at. If the company decides to give them
some air, they won't let them down in the quarter hours. I think when there's
two or three hours of TV to produce, there is room for everybody. The only
reason you wouldn't have someone out there who's got the credentials and
ability is because you're trying to keep somebody else [laughs]. It would help
both Dean and Chris just being associated with Arn to the level they want to
be at. I think it's a good deal."
